Whitner is worse than Cohn at this point to me because he speaks from a players perspective and yet looks for click bait type of things.

Grant I don't think ever played the sport let alone in the NFL so I don't expect him to know better.

Wtf has Whitner seen exactly? I'm pretty sure he's not even allowed inside access anymore and I know Raheem isn't giving him info on where he's going with the defense.

Maybe he's right but a joint practice in preseason with a couple of key players out vs a team we actually play in the regular season isn't the time to make that claim.

And assuming our guys stay healthy I imagine by the time we play the Chargers everyone will be much better learning the new scheme by week 15 when we play Chargers in a game that matters.

I remember us getting trounced by the Raiders in a joint practice a few years ago and then we went to the Super Bowl and they were terrible. This stuff doesn't matter that much. That's especially true when you consider that we play the Chargers in the regular season this year.

Normally the bad teams have more to prove to everyone in these practices while the team that is better kind of sleep walks through them and treats them as just another practice,

This is a Chargers beat reporter. I thought he did a good job adding context to point out when plays likely would've been dead or at least affected


I would've liked our corners to match up better even in vanilla based looks(knowing we're not likely to show our hand to a team we'll be playing this season) or have our guys on offense beat their defense more often BUT a lot of those big plays everyone was hyping up wouldn't have looked as impressive in a real game.

Hate to bring up the Rams winning a SB in here but it helps with the extreme analogy. The play the Rams won their SB on would've been a TD play to Jamarr Chase in a joint practice setting.

When the same exact thing happened last week but to the Titans by the Niners, it was a very different conversation on here.
