How Do We Feel Going Into This Season?

I don't know who's dumber the 49ers organization for paying Aiyuk $50 mill for basically nothing or 49ers fans still believing in "Quest for six". All you talk s**t about Cowboys fans for being delusional and continuing the drought well how bout u look in the mirror, you are all in the same boat. 🤣👉🏻😩
As long as the Dorks are in charge none of you younger Niners fans will see this team win a championship. Keep wasting your time on a stagnant product. 🥱

You've been posting here for a while. You think it's a great idea to basically tell the majority of the posters here that they're dumb and shouldn't follow the team?

Why are you here btw? Shouldn't you heed your own advice?

Oh look its the president of the 40whiners club. Not just the president but also a whiner.

I'm not sure why people hate on Jed York so much. He's taken a back seat and let real football guys run his franchise. At least he isn't meddling into the affairs of the day to day operations like some owners. He's been to three Super Bowls, i think he'll eventually win one.
I'm not to optimistic about this upcoming season. I just feel we haven't done enough to address the O-line or the pass rush. I think we will have a winning record but I'm not so confident about the playoffs or even making a deep run in the playoffs, but we will see.

The same way I feel every other season: they're going to compete for the SB if they stay healthy.

agreed

I can understand thinking they haven't done ENOUGH to address the OL but I don't see pass rush in the same boat.

Last year we went into the season with the following DL

Nick Bosa
Mykel Williams
Bryce Huff
Alfred Collins
C.J. West
Jordan Elliott
Kalia Davis
Sam Okuayinonu
Robert Beal Jr.
Evan Anderson
Yetur Gross-Matos

The guys in bold are gone. Huff and YGM were the best and most consistent pass rushers out of the group but YGM could never stay healthy.

We basically replaced him those guys with Osa and Romello Height. Height of course is an unknown but sounds like he's a similar player which is basically a 3rd down rusher and not every down type of edge.

Osa is 100% an upgrade. We were missing a big time pass rushing 3T who wasn't a liability against the run. We also brought in Halton who was considered a pretty good interior rusher.

Odds are we'll bring in another edge before the season starts. Looking back assuming we get 2nd year improvements from the guys we drafted last year the unit should be improved overall. Most of the guys who are gone are nothing to worry about.

According to some we've been more successful than the Cowboys over the past 30 years bc we've added 3 SB losses to our tally while the Cowboys haven't done squat! Eat that Cowboy fans !
Seattle embarrassed us twice late last year because they dominated the lines of scrimmage.

We didn't seriously address OL at all.

Bosa and Osa are huge upgrades over what we saw most of last year, so I have some hope for the DL. This could easily be the worst Defense we've taken to a SB in the Shanahan era, though.

Team wide, many of our best players are either old, coming off injury, or both.

We had one of the easiest schedules last year. Not so much this year.

I think this year's going to be a grind to a wild card spot and a prayer. Nothing's out of reach, though.

I disagree with a lot of this

Our schedule also didnt turn out easy it was easy based on previous season rankings but based on the actual season rankings it was average. Also you arent accounting for all the injured players we are getting back and the major upgrade at WR

Last year brock Purdy had the longest time to throw and time in pocket in the NFL and his pressure rate was in bottom 10%. So is the 49ers OL elite no i dont think so at all i just think we are average if not slightly above (like outside top 10 area) but the receiving options especially after all the injuries sucked no one could get open fast at all.

Last year our entire front 7 was injured we were starting LB from the streets (literally)

We didn't make it hard for them in several ways though. Easier for their DL to control the game when they don't fear what we can do because we don't have the bodies to threaten them on most plays.

I'm definitely not thrilled with the lack of improvement at OL but I'm also curious to see what the new additions can show. We badly need a glow up from Puni and I have a feeling we can get that. I think he played hurt last year and it threw him off. Trent and Colton are solid even with Trent getting older. It's our interior that has to step up. LG will be a battle to watch. I'm still shocked we haven't move off Brendel but he better make Kyle look good…

Adding speed and size at WR will help schematically though. Both in the running game and the passing game. It will make it tougher for Seattle to sit on our plays. It will be a chess match but hopefully we're ready to counter after last year.

Getting a better pass rush and improved play from the front 7 will be critical to hopefully getting the bad Sam Darnold to reappear.

Not sure if we have the bodies to make a SB run yet but if we stay healthy I wouldn't bet against us either.
Man I think our defense is going to be suffocating....

We have size up front all through out the line to stop the run... we have Fred and Dre back, to be where they need to be, behind it. I feel we are stacked at DBs... and finally have speed at Safety.

And we have athletic youngsters there to learn along the way...

On offense... well with Mike Evans, our redzone production will finally be legit....with a playmaking rookie ready to make a name for himself. Less pressure on Pretty Ricky, and he can just go out there and make plays when needed.

We have legit depth behind Brock. Mac has proven himself..

Cautiously Curious about how Morris will run this talented defense.

We got this.

>>>paying Aiyuk $50 mill for basically nothing

I stopped reading at the "basically nothing" comment, because it is indicative of how clueless your take is.
