yeah, he played the run really well,... in fact, he was "the 49ers' highest-graded run defender (75.0), recording a game-high four stops"

and that was in just the first half of the game,... this is an astonishing number (4 stops),... small sample size, but incredible stat anyway,... at this rhythm his numbers for a whole season would smash any record

very complete player,... as posted here before he demolished the best paid guard in the league to get a sack (only to be denied by a penalty made by the secondary),... he's going to be the steal of the draft,... and one of the DL starters sooner rather than later,... and if Collins doesn't improve big way fast, he could begin the season as the incumbent starter

I said the same, but makes me wonder why he wasn't considered above Collins to begin with? Oh well, he looked good. We need West to step up so we can keep this kid fresh later in the season.

He was considered over Collins if the preseason is any indication. Halton played early in games while Collins played well into the second halves.
