Heidenreich would be a good pick up, swiss army knife/offensive weapon.

Yup. I remember the, "why draft him? 2 ACLs and bad shoulders! JJ Arrington was right there!" Posts.
I will route for the kid, I'm not a hater. I will say it feels a bit early, but I'm an idiot. I thought Rashaun Woods was a good pick, so I bought his jersey lol.

I hate this pick like why? John lynch explanation sucks too. Stayed true to your board? I don't care if he's the best player on top of your board he's a running back that's probably not gonna see the field this year. Pick the 2nd or 3rd best player on it damn

What I don't get is the lack of introspection. Every year they deviate from the consensus and reach for guys, and I can't think of a single reach that has been a hit. You would think that would cause them re-evaluate their process. If your board deviates THAT much from the rest of the football world, shouldn't that raise a red flag and make them to think maybe there's a problem with their process? Especially when you have no results to validate your method.
they seem to think they're smarter than everyone else without any results to back their process.

This pick hurt some feelings. How about lets just support the team and stop pretending we all know exactly what should be done, lol.

There's just no way the scouts were that high on Black. This feels so much like the other running backs that have failed. Kyle falls for one guy and wants him no matter what.

JJ went in the 2nd and Gore was at the top of the 3rd though. I was hanging around then but didn't create an account until 2007. I do remember Tony Ugoh and David Harris over Patrick Willis and Joe Staley though (we supposedly wasted a 1st round pick in 2008 by trading up for Staley).
But yes, every year there is some massive hate against some pick. But in this regime, are there any examples of picks that are hated by an overwhelming majority, yet they worked out? I honestly can't think of any.

The guy is tailor-made to a KS offense. I assume the scouts have a criteria based on fit. Excellent blocker, great burst through holes, home run top speed, zero dancing, picks up yards after contact, great in short yardage, special teams ace. I get that he was a reach at 90, but this is a guy who will suit up in Sundays and actually get PT behind CMC, imo.

Following their board, the running back apparently always "falls" to them, but the OL and safeties never do based on their board. I wonder why.

No one wants this guy to do bad. I hope he has a great year. I actually hope somehow, we find a way for all four backs (CMC, James, Guerendo, and Black) contribute in 2026. That would be great for everyone involved as they all bring different things and can show that this team can in fact pick some decent RB talent because they never have in the draft outside of Eli Mitchell.
