I actually want Black to be a weapon in the passing game the way CMC is in the passing game. I think that will help the offense be more explosive with the WR speed to the outside and score more in the red zone.

He'll give some formation flexibility in two tight end formations with Kittle and Tonges *and* Black going on passing routes.

What is cool with Black is that CMC can move to the slot in 4 wide and be the "Wide Runner" than Deebo was.... and if Black is who KS thinks he is then he can rely on him for pass pro, be the #5 in the route, or run the ball....

I saw this earlier. Combined with Cosell's take on knbr, I went from hating this pick, to being pretty excited about it. He looks explosive out of those cuts.

They should've drafted Skattebo last year instead of taking a RB this year.

Yeah, the only thing I can think of why Kyle didn't draft him was that Skattebo isn't fast enough for Kyle. Otherwise I'm hoping they can trade for him in the future once he's nearing the end of his contract.

Agree, and that should save some wear and tear on CMC's body just doing that since hopefully in those plays he's getting hit by DB's instead of DT's.

The zone would of melted down, "wtf drafting the white ron dayne?" Then everyone would claim to know he was gonna be good all along and culminating with him being a bust again after one of his inevitable injuries. The cycle of life in the zone.

Yeah, there's a mixture of really knowledgeable fans and really emotional freak out fans that freak out at the sign of rain in the sky. I still think our Fan Base is the best though, despite a great mixture of so many different people. I always enjoy coming here to talk football.

I just want Shanahan or Bobby T to start managing CMC instead of letting CMC decide when he wants to come in or out.

Yep, same. While it probably wasn't an immediate need, the ability to cook linebackers like that, and his overall skill set, he looks very much like an every down back. Carried the load for Indiana and hopefully can take over for CMC who isn't gonna be here forever.

CMC is signed through 2028–29 season. He will be 30 when this season starts, meaning he'll be turn 33 after his contract is up with us. Could he retire then? Man, seems like it could be closer than we think.

It isn't a bad idea to not put all our eggs in one basket there. I was never a fan of Guerendo as a prospect but hoped he could figure it out. Kid is sadly 100% in the doghouse now. Still wish they'd consider a conversion to fullback though.

Thats a tough ask because of Shanahan as the play designer. Pretty much every play has CMC in it. On top of that, when Kyle gets behind in the score - he tends to panic, (In my opinon) and starts pressing and overusing guys like CMC in those catch up situations.
