I don't know. He's fast coming around the corner. But never gets there. Doesn't do much. Gets road graded in the run game. He can get planted straight on his back. He's almost 100 lbs. lighter than the Tackles across from him and it really shows in the run game. That 239 lbs. needs to go to 259 lbs. at least. He needs +20 lbs. of muscle. He's just way too thin and not strong enough. He's a one hit wonder. It's just speed only. Which gets neutralized if they get their hands on him. He's done if a bigger, stronger Tackle gets their hands on him.
He just needs reps against Pro tackles. He's only 11 lbs lighter than Micah

Like, Osa, he's not here to stop the run. Unfortunate he's being put in a bad spot with Williams out. That should be changing soon. SD doesn't have a clue what he's talking about per usual

Fred Dean and Charles Haley weren't big Bosa sized guys, but they were put in a scheme that magnified their strengths and eliminated their weaknesses. My hope is Height continues to improve and that he heals up and stays healthy the rest of the season.

Fred Dean and Charles Haley also played 30-40 years ago when players weren't nearly as big as they are now.

I can't think of a single pass rusher besides Von Miller who has been effective at 240 lbs or below in the last 10-20 years, and even he is an anomaly.

I think Height will be fine as long as he continues to improve. What I mean by that is him just using his speed and what power he has to his advantage. I defer to Hero on hand placement, hand fighting, balance, and improving his upper body strength and leverage techniques.

Raheem's system doesn't need Bosa like defensive ends all over the place. Raheem needs more tweeners that can do a variety of things. Drop back, rush, cover etc... Raheem's system is a deception type of system (like Kyle's offense) and in both systems, football IQ, lateral quickness and agility are the traits that Raheem likes.

Raheem's defensive systems have a lot of similarities to Seifert's 3-4 defenses, and in those types of systems both Fred and Charles excelled even though they were a bit undersized even during those days.

I haven't had a chance to really look at the available clips.. but It's the usual hater crowd posting about our DL, so it's probably not even that bad

Good stuff. People who seem to know DL, both here and outside of here, seem to like him and how he's progressing

Safety?

Loved seeing him use that long arm. He rarely went to it in college, but it's a great counter to a passive tackle passive trying to stop the speed rush.

He had some great reps against a quality tackle. I think we'll see the best version of Romello Height this season once Mykel takes those run down reps from him, and he can focus on solely rushing the passer.

He is so underpowered; I'd be surprised if he's ever a playmaker

They usually bulk up substantially in year two. Let's hope he doesn't take the CJ West and Alfred Collins path of regression.

He has been doing a lot of good things that do not show up on the data sheet. He is often on games that confuse blocking assignments and/or free up other players to make plays. He will get stronger with a year in a pro weigh room. When his hand heals, we will see more of him.

Way too soon to write him off as just a plugger.

raheem throws way more looks than george, even if the concepts are similar

I'm surprised he didn't get crumpled more against Denver. He might just be putting in the work.

Be nice if this young man can help us not be so dependent on Nick B at the DE position.
