So put on IR he has to miss at least first 4 games -- BUT when can he return to practice? This will be a big indicator, and I haven't heard Kirk is practicing this week like Mykel is.

Honestly I don't know if I want to use a return from IR on him or is it already spent? I don't know how those work.

Just as a reminder because there's some (understandable) confusion:

Williams can begin practicing this week because he's on PUP. He can't return to play until Seattle at the earliest.
Also: players on IR cannot begin practicing until next week. So Christian Kirk, etc., have at… https://t.co/yt8blReOf3
Basically, it's due to the difference in designation. Mykel is on PUP whereas Kirk is on IR.

If we're talking about adding bodies to the WR corps and age is a non factor OBJ will be available as the Giants are planning on releasing him. Old ? Yes. Washed up ? Pretty much. But can he a rotational guy in the slot.

Wouldn't mind kicking the tires, although wouldn't expect much.

team just signed Brandin Cooks. adding OBJ is unnecessary.

They put him on IR so he can't come back yet
Oh I understand that. But we are at 8 Weeks so I am assuming by that time frame he must have had a mild tear of a setback earlier during his recovery. Never a mention of Surgery that should rule a grade 3 tear for the most part but not entirely. So, I am thinking a mild grade 2 tear with 6 to 8 weeks of recovery time. When it happened, they just threw out the generic calf sprain which is usually 1 to 4 weeks.

We tried out Dante Pettis. I'd rather have OBJ.

Pettis, Rice and those WR they just worked out can play special teams. OBJ doesn't. we already signed an aged WR who doesn't play ST in Cooks.

Looks like Pettis will be making his weekly visits again to collect his paycheck. We remember those days

We can't bring OBJ right now since he hasn't been released yet
