Let me get Jerry on the line and ill get back to you. You probably have to hit up a Cowboys message board and see what they saying

Cowboys are over the cap. They needed to move money.

My thinking as well. The front 7 will help which has been improved through free agency and getting healthy but a better secondary will improve the front 7 as well.

THIS!

Do you think this was an Matt Eberflus influence?

I'm sure he helped the situation but I think the niners saw the ability to get a good player at a position of need. we desperately need help at DT. Couple him with the two young guys we got last year and that's a real nice solid rotation on the interior.

I hope we go FS and DE/edge with first 2 picks... but now we have no 3rd (Osa worth it tho)

They did the massive trade for Quinnen Williams. Basically makes Osa redundant.

Also apparently Osa isn't a good scheme fit for a 3-4. Perhaps Morris is willing to stick with a 4-3?

I think we definitely stick with a base 4-3 but there will be some odd fronts thrown in there to mix it up.

We probably won't know until the draft and we see the type of DE/LB/S we pick. That will probably tell us a bit.

Huff-Osa-Mykel-Bosa for our pass rush?

Get some more EDGE depth and we are cooking

Not convinced Huff stays which is why I still have DE at the top of my most likely round 1 draft list along with WR.

Yea...Time to ditch Huff for a youngster and a better vet like Clowney

I wouldn't mind us getting clowney or joey bosa. having a solid vet would be nice for the rotation. I don't mind huff because he's good when he's able to do what he is good at. he became a full time starter last year and was overly relied on. he isn't built for that. he's a great 2/3 option during a pass rush. not 1st that teams can focus on.

True on Huff and I really don't know what type of fronts Morris will run. Huff is just to small to hold up for extended play especially in the wide 9. And with our injury history somehow someway he'll end playing more than he should. They need a bigger bodied DE assuming they still rolling with the wide 9

He and Bosa together should be a nice duo.

Not to mention Morris is pretty good drawing blitzes...We getting after the qb next year

The article said they were sending a 3rd round pick to Dallas as PART of the trade. That sounds like there's mor involved. Is it money? Another pick? A pick swap?

Isn't that just the terminology they use? Our part was a 3rd rounder, the other part was Odi.
We should trade back from #27 to #33 with the NYJ to get our 3rd round pick back (103 is similar to the 92 we just gave up).

Trade value is #27 gets back #33, #103, #179, and a 2027 5th.

At #33, Max Iheanachor or Blake Miller may still be there at OT. Could draft Pregnon G there or Concepcion if he falls a little.

Trade back is the play.

#33. Iheanachor OT/Pregnon G (one is a G and Iheanachor can play G until Trent leaves)
#58. Cassius Howell EDGE (this dude just needs to be unleashed - total rabid attack dawg - use the 2027 5th from the trade back to move up a few spots to secure him)
#103. Kendrick Law WR
#127. Bud Clark S
#133. Malik Benson WR/PR/KR (4.36 speed)
#138. Devin Moore CB
#139. Sam Roush/Joe Royer TE
#179. Dontay Corleone DT

Combine that with getting Osa and I think we're in great shape to contend this year :) Great trade today!

Love it. Another step in the right direction. According to his stats, he's missed one game during his career and played through injuries.
Howell is a rabid dog with T Rex arms.
