There was good news and potentially bad news for the San Francisco 49ers on Friday as the team held its final practice ahead of Sunday's Week 5 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
The good news is that wide receiver Mike Evans, who played through a rib injury last week, was suited up and preparing to practice during the portion of the session open to reporters. He worked on the side during the team's first two practices of the week, so his return is notable.
The potentially bad news is that cornerback Upton Stout, who is dealing with a shoulder sprain, was not seen at practice. Stout participated in limited capacity on Thursday.

"There's potential [he could play on Sunday]," head coach Kyle Shanahan said of Stout on Thursday. "We're not sure yet. We're hoping he'll get there, but definitely not sure yet."
Several other players were absent from Friday's practice, though their absences were expected. They included defensive end Nick Bosa (calf, knee), defensive tackle James Thompson Jr. (ankle), safety Marques Sigle (ankle), and fullback Kyle Juszczyk (knee). None is expected to play against the Seahawks.
Defensive end Mykel Williams, meanwhile, was on hand for practice. He is expected to be activated from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list on Saturday. The 49ers seemingly opened a roster spot for Williams by releasing defensive lineman Ogbo Okoronkwo on Friday.
Wide receiver Demarcus Robinson was seen working on the side. He landed on injured reserve on September 26 after suffering a high-ankle sprain.
We'll likely learn more about the 49ers' injured players when Shanahan speaks to reporters after practice, and the team releases its official injury and practice participation report.
