He's also very flexible, so opposing teams won't know exactly how to scheme against him. I'm excited...Saleh did a very good job of reigniting the defense...Morris can take it to the next level.

Exactly this. I was wildly fearful they were gonna go Bradley. I know 'Heem and Shanny are old buddies, but this signifies something significant to me.

Get this man a pass rusher and another key piece in the secondary...and watch out. I'm personally thrilled. Didn't think they were gonna do this.

Now get Purdy a real WR and draft a back in the later rounds who can carry the load and allow CMC to be a secondary back/pass catcher.

Raheem doesn't just run a 3-4 also if you think Bosa or Warner can't play in a 3-4 then I don't know what to tell you.

I know he doesn't just run a 3-4 Sure Bosa and Warner can play in a 3-4 they're that good but I think they're best in a 4-3 scheme

Personally, Lenoir should be traded .. he's entering a danger zone of believing that's he's Superstar.. Stock is high, trade him ... Green and Stout will be the new Cover Brothers !!

I actually love this idea. He just reeks of holdout & high contract demands lol

That's part of why Lenoir is coveted here, he hasn't demanded top corner money and resigned on a fair deal with us without even testing the market. He's not a premier corner but dudes solid, not sure where this idea of him being a "demanding superstar diva" is coming from.

Agree. Other then him talking mad trash (which he does need to tone down) he's been a great. He could have waited to sign his extension to maximize his value but he didn't.

Why doesnt the secondary fit a 3-4? I don't think we are going to a 3-4 but i'm kinda curious why you think that.

I literally said the secondary fits a 3-4, idk about the box though. Green, Brown, Mustapha and Stout especially I think could benefit. I'm mainly worried about the DL, Collins would be interesting at DE but he's kinda slow it'd diminish his pass rush even more. Same kinda goes for Bosa he'd still be effective but he's a 4-3 pass rusher for sure. Don't see CJ west as a NT but he's does have the build. Then you have Dee Winters, you want a run stuffing ILB in the 3-4 and that's his biggest weakness

We don't need two threads to talk about what Morris will do as DC. Go to the main thread.

I'd rather coach and DC be buddies instead of frenemies like the Wilks situation. Lol

1. I love that Raheem is a players coach. Players love playing for him and that means something. Some would argue that's one of the most important pieces.

2. I think Kyle and Raheem are on the same page on what kind of system to run and how they want to run. They both respect the hell out of each other and most likely understand the path forward.

As long as we stay healthy - I'm optimistic our defense can be a really good unit. I'm really hopeful our back 7 gets a lot better in coverage (which isn't hard as long as our d line is healthy). Raheem is known to blitz more.

i think the biggest difference with salah and demeco is that Demeco was more aggressive. I love salah but I always felt like the Demeco Ryan's year was the funnest year on defense. I'm hoping he brings that same energy and aggressiveness.

Why would he holdout for a new deal when he is signed through 2029, making over $17M a year? Makes zero sense.

Agreed. The corners are fine. We need a bigger and faster safety and a bigger and faster Will.

Iit's a minor miracle they weren't giving up 30+ touchdowns and 4000 + yards given that there was no pass rush. Winters isn't fast enough? Unless you mean backups.

I'm still blown away we went 12-5. The pass rush was legitimately the worst I've seen in SF since the 2004-2005 seasons. Maybe worse if we're only counting like week 6 and on.

What Saleh and the defensive staff were able to cobble together was indeed a minor miracle

Despite the "easy" schedule, 49ers' opponents record was 0.493 and there were 12 teams whose opponents were worse than that.

He's 5'11" and ran a 4.49 40. Good speed, on the short side, and isn't as good in coverage or tackling as Greenlaw. Greenlaw was a bit slower but bigger and a better player.

I bet Nick Martin takes the spot adjacent to Warner. I think the way Martin plays is what we need. I hope his head is okay, that concussion took a long time to clear.

I really like a lot of our young players from last draft and am hoping they take big jumps in year 2. If that happens, and obviously we have fortunate health, we will be a contender. We are built well enough - just need some minor improvements and health.
