He's proven not to be a very good head coach (Tampa Bay, Atlanta). Hopefully he won't be poached for a while. I'm hoping no NFL owner wants to give that 3rd chance to Raheem to get a shot at the round 1, pick 1 of the 2028 draft.

Huh? Morris almost had the Arizona and Raiders jobs before becoming the DC for the 49ers. Aren't we all hoping he makes the 9ers defense a monster again? Because if he does he'll be a head coach again no doubt. If he doesn't he'll stick around but 9er fans would be screaming for his head.

I don't think he was a real priority for either the raiders or Cardinals. Its tough to overcome two failed head coaching attempts. He meets the Rooney Rule for one thing regarding HC interviews and he is a good DC, and so they (I think) were trying to get him more as their DC vs him being a real viable head coaching candidate.

It's never easy to know why a HC fails. Sometimes it's a lot of injuries. Maybe just unlucky with draft picks. However it certainly can be that some guys aren't cut out to be #1. They may be a great possition coach or coordinator but it doesn't mean they can be the big dog.
