Literally no one outside our secondary. Green, Brown, Mustapha, and even Lenoir I can see in a 3-4

Collins will be a great fit at 3-4 DE
West is a solid NT candidate
Warner can be a great Will LB
Bosa will be a good OLB. I dont know how well he will do in coverage though. But getting to the QB should not be an issue.

I never want to see Bosa dropping into coverage.

I see Bosa as being a DL chess piece similar to how Raheem used Aaron Donald. I know they aren't similar builds but Donald was moved from DT to DE depending on certain situations & I think Raheem will use Bosa similarly. Bosa's hand will stay in the dirt & his job will remain to sack the QB.

Why would Fred play will? He's playing Mike.
I think Mykel will transition smoothly into a 3-4 DE too (might have to put on some additional mass but he's young enough to do that without much issue). West should do fine as a Nose with all that power he possesses & I think Collins will wreak havoc as the other 3-4 End.

I'm just expecting a hybrid defense where everyone fits everywhere. I feel the base defense will change week to week. I'm excited and can't wait to see what they put on the field. I expect some players to go through some mental errors with this new scheme.
IF he is to play a 3-4 (which is a big if) I think Mykel is a natural fit at end, he played in a 3-4 in college and played all over the line as hes versatile
Collins is probably the player who loses the most going to a 3-4 because he isnt really a nose and Im not sure he can play a 3-4 end. West would be a solid nose with a bit of concern over size, but he can do it.

Collins played a ton of heads up/shaded alignment in college. If anything, he'd be going back to his natural spot in an odd front. I don't think anyone that's being honest watched Alfred Collin's college tape and thought to themselves, "Yeah, that's a penetrating 1-gap 3 tech for the wide 9 if I've ever seen one." I honestly didn't think the 49ers would want him after I watched his tape because he was so damn big, kind of uncoordinated and not particularly explosive.

He's not going to play a 3-4. If anything he will run more 5 man fronts

Isn't a 3-4 essentially a 5 man front? 3 down linemen & 2 outside backers.

Saleh and lynch both said they envisioned him as a 3T based on how he moved and his athleticism.

Yeah, where else are you going to put him after you've drafted him? Lol. He's not an end and too damn tall with pad-level issues to be a nose. There's only one spot remaining.

It would be very speculative to assume Morris will impose a system that does not utilize the best talents of available players. It makes for good speculative discussion.

So are you now saying you don't think he's equipped for it? Might be misunderstanding . We had previously discussed this and you agreed with their assessment and even touched on improvements he was making. It was always going to be a bit of a project for him, but that is what he was drafted to be, a Buckner type player

It's f**king stupid if they do try to go that route.

Yeah, I agree. I like Collins, so I'm not like attacking him or his selection. I think he has the potential to be better under Morris.
