DC Candidates with Saleh Gone | Page 6

There were too many openings, he was as good as gone. At least he went to the AFC. Obvious choice to me for continuity is Jim Schwartz. Raheem Morris if they tweak the system, he'll never get another HC job. Flores is a maybe. He's good but just another guy who could leave quickly. Gus Bradley should only be a last resort and hopefully that's why they brought him in, thinking we'd at least have someone if we made a deeper run and everyone else was gone. I think he johns Saleh if he's not selected.

Brandon Staley.

That's it? Vic been coaching a long time seems like he would have one or two more candidates to choose from that were under him.

Lots of similar articles if googled. Not a done deal or anything, but just a prediction. Lafleur and Raheem Morris are good friends also, and go way back

So basically take out LaFleur's name and put in Kyle and it's the same article 😝

Wright played and coached under Bradley.
Hopefully Bradley is here to feed Shanny info regarding the upcoming teams defense in preparation for upcoming games and was always going to be a middle man.
And maybe Wright was always the next guy.

Yes, I think that's a likely scenario. I'm not sure that Bradley would still want the toil of a DC job. KJ hasn't had much coaching spotlight so it'll be difficult to us fans to gauge if he has the chops.

KJ will follow in that Saleh / Bradley mold of calling defenses. This team needs a more aggressive mindset on defense. This bend don't break BS needs to stop. We need our players to go after guys like Seattle. Speed and aggression! Jim Schwartz !

I think Saleh ran a bend-but-dont-break defense is due mostly to personnel available to him. I'm mostly worried that our secondary coach isn't very good because the DBs had a lot of miscommunications.

He ran the same defense even with better personnel. The talent just made it look different. He's always been a guy that rarely blitzes or plays man. Rush 4 with heavy zone concepts is his thing. His corners aren't allowed to shadow unless it was Sauce Gardner. Not sure about our current DB coach but our players just aren't that talented in our secondary. Lenior is a solid #2, and i like Stout. All our safeties should be back ups.

Let's workshop some thread titles:

"D.J." KJ Wright, Defensive Coordinator

Gym Shorts, Defensive Coordinator

All Aboard the "Gus Bus", Defensive Coordinator

Raheem "the Dream" Morris, Defensive Coordinator

Nah, that's just his philosophy. The same with guys like MacDonald, Fangio, etc. They want to prevent explosive plays and force offenses to go the length of the field.

It'll be Gus Bradley. Unless Kyle's discussion with Jim Schwartz was "oh it's easy, just show them the power point and they'll understand you don't want to work with them as a coordinator anymore! It worked for me!"

Didn't we already use "Gus Bus" for the Gus Malzahn hype way back in the day?

ESPN gives the Titans an A grade for the hire. Also, answers a lot of questions about the future there.

If Kyle is going to promote Bradley would it not be wise for him to go on and do it. Hence to keep other teams from coming in and getting him for their DC?

I don't think they can. As long as he's the assistant head coach, he's stuck here, AFAIK.

Don't they have to go through an interview process/Rooney Rule?
