Isn't always kind of a red flag when players are sitting there unsigned this time of year? If they are it's usually one of 3 things. They want too much money. They're injured. They just can't play well anymore.

You forgot the other reason – waiting for the right situation. There have been several players with opportunities to sign this year but have turned down those because it just wasn't where they wanted to be.

Location and going to a winning team are big factors for a lot of vets.

Hopefully he's still got something in the tank.

Yes you're right. I don't know if this team has a real shot at going to the SB but he certainly has a chance to get in the starting lineup. With all the injuries they've had at this position anyone healthy enough to play that's had any experience is a candidate to start.

Good signing. No shot against Bethune but he's injured with a high ankle sprain and a 2nd year player expected to replace an all-pro, he needs to be out there playing free without the responsibility of making line calls.

Robinson had 3 tackles last week and a lot of missed ones. Carolina was avg over 5 yards a carry they just inexcusably abandoned the run.

This will be an upgrade unless Kendricks becomes this year's DeVondre Campbell…

Good call!

IMO, his signing couldn't hurt and he does bring some fire.
Good signing because Bethune sucks as a play caller on the field

Honestly they all kinda suck. No doubt in my mind Kendricks will be the best we got granted him not signing up until this point wasn't injury related. People will see the difference with Kendricks on the field

FINALLY after all these years....we finally bring him in.

I mean I believe we had a deal in place a few years ago was it? And he bailed?

Doubt he's athletic as he used to be...but even if he's slowed down a bit, he'd still be more athletic than other linebackers.

It was literally last year lol
Check out his pff numbers from 2024. They are pretty f*kn good:

What we know about Kendricks in 2024 Eric Kendricks played 15 games for the Cowboys in 2024, racking up 138 total tackles (71 solo, 67 assists), 3.0 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 2 interceptions, 3 pass-breakups / pass deflections, and 1 fumble recovery. SI+2RotoWire+2

According to media coverage referencing PFF, Kendricks earned a 75.2 overall PFF grade for the 2024 season with Dallas. SI <<----

His run-defense grade from PFF for 2024 was reported as 78.3, which reportedly led the Cowboys' defense. SI+1

Beyond raw numbers, there is a general assessment (from a Cowboys-focused outlet) that Kendricks "remained among the top linebackers in the league … in both volume (138 tackles) and efficiency (92.6 % tackling efficiency)" for 2024.
Honestly this whole Kendricks story is pretty bizarre.

Why is he an FA? 75 is starting caliber grade for the majority of teams. Weird that he is still on the market.

His pass rating looks like its about 72.... SO PRETTY GOOD.

I am pumped. If K is calling on field coverage adjustments and run fits, this could be the solution to our hapless coverage issues and inconsistent run defense. WE NEED HIS BRAIN!!!

I'm praying this dude makes everyone around him better. He just had a solid year at 32 years old. Also please stay healthy.

this was just last year. If he can play to this level one year later, this helps us immensely down the stretch.

I know that's very wishful thinking but at very least he can be a mentor for our young LB core while Fred is away… I love this signing

No I mean I've wanted him since he was with the Vikings (was it?). Or was that his brother lol. 👴🏾

He was so athletic back then..flying everywhere.
I am assuming that since Dallas' defense is total trash, the only reason he still isn't a Cowboy is because he doesn't fit what they do schematically/not one of former DC Zimmers guys?
