Should the 49ers trade Mac Jones in the offseason?

Why is this even being talked about now? A lot can change until the offseason.. during the offseason... after the draft.

Don't fall for media clicks.

Speaking for myself, I DGAF about an article I'm oblivious to and never clicked on so much as I have been monitoring the situation as it is.

Mac has shown he is a starter level backup throughout the season and that in and of itself is worth something.

Both as continuing to be our backup for another year, or as trade bait for a nice pick.

It's also looking like an underwhelming draft class for quarterbacks. So I can see why his name is generating interest.
I don't think they should, unless a team is willing to give up the farm, which would include a first round pick. especially if Shanahan does nothing to address the Oline in the offseason again

Damn! I hate to agree with Grant on anything. I would keep Mac or, if he insisted on going, it would have to be minimum a high 2nd.

All of this. Didn't even wanna read the OP because the first line has GC on it. I immediately lose interest.
If you can get anything for him I would.

We need talent and picks badly.

You have to assume you can get a guy like brisset to come in and go .500 if purdy goes down.

Your not winning the SB with Mac Jones so get whatever ammo you can to make the team better.
Only if they truly fleece a team.
Conventional wisdom says to keep him, of course. Problem is he is going to receive a LOT of attention as a starter for some teams (Vikings) and who would turn that down? As much as I would love for him to stay, I say "Dog, go get your bag!!!"
In no way should they trade Mac Jones unless they get a 1st. Likely they will have offers of a third but whats the point this regime has shown a disasterous drafting record esp in R3. We will need a viable starter with Brock not being particularly durable.

I'll be fine if he stays, fine if we get a 3rd + (maybe two 3rds), happy if we get a 2nd or anything more than that

Depends on Rourke's development but as of now I'd say no because eventoeally that injury may resurface itself

If Kurtis looks good enough, then I'd trade Mac but only if offered a third and one other pick or player at a position of need, or better.

I don't think there's gonna be as many teams bidding as people think though.

Vikings won't give up on McCarthy that quick.

Falcons saw Mac get only 150 yards, 0 TD, and a pick against them firsthand.

Jets, Saints, Raiders, Browns, maybe. They may want Murray more.

Daniel Jones, Russ, and Bryce Young could be available too.

I would prefer holding on to him for at least one more year

2nd rounder or multiple 3rds or better and I say yes.

I like Rourke and we can bring in another vet. May as well try to rehab Zach Wilson lol. He'll be available.

Plenty of projects out there and/or soon to be...
Anthony Richardson
Bryce Young
Justin Fields
Kyler Murray
M. Trubisky
And give Trevor Lawrence this year and next year and he will be looking for employment.

Grant Cohn had a video talking about the fact that there will be significant interest from teams to trade for Mac Jones. Grant's position is that the 49ers should not trade Mac Jones because Purdy gets injured too often and the 49ers do a poor job drafting. Do you agree? If you would trade him, what is the minimum that you would require to make a trade?

Damn! I hate to agree with Grant on anything. I would keep Mac or, if he insisted on going, it would have to be minimum a high 2nd.

Grant thinks that Mac Jones is better than Purdy, so I hope you arent announcing to the world that you dont know anything about football like he does.

It's a depressing situation to be in. But fortunately, I don't think Mac is better than Purdy. I just want to keep them both (phew, eh?).

Thank God hahaha
