Nope. '26 will hopefully be injury free so all hands on deck, including Mac, for a sixth Lombardi run.
If we stay injury free then what do we need Mac for?

Ask for a 1st, get low balled a 2nd and make them seem like they won. In reality we get what we wanted in the end, a win win.

Jimmy was a relative unknown at that point and he got a big contract after 8 games he played. By the same logic, why didnt no one give a pick for Jimmy when he was available and we were shopping him ?
Mac is a well known commodity with a limited ceiling. Just like Jimmy in 2022.
I will have to disagree with you. Teams that only think about today and not tomorrow tend to stay in the toilet. Mac doesnt really move the needle for any team with big issues. And I dont think hes getting a contract compared to what Jimmy got.

We dont need to jump down this rabbit hole again. There are plenty of reasons why Jimmy had zero trade market, and I will leave it at that. Mac will absolutely have a better trade market than none.

He didn't have zero trade market in the first place, We supposedly had a trade worked out and then he opted for surgery and killed it.

Man, I am totally torn on this one. We have an injury prone starter on a team that is injury prone year after year. The 49ers do not have a good record on drafting high round picks. Off the top of my head I cannot think of a Mac jones type reclamation project that would
take Mac's place if we traded him away. Ultimately I think it would be a really bad idea to trade away Mac.

Minnesota makes a lot of sense. Remember immobile Cousins with that offense and those receivers. Jones will be cheap, he's tough, and last chance to prove he's a starter. Don't see their 1st but their 2nd etc.
Whatever they do they have to bring in a very capable backup because Purdy is injury prone.

Sounds great but I wonder how many teams would give up a 1st or even a 2nd. He would be a better choice than most of the QBs coming out of college but he's also limited since he doesn't move really well. A lot of teams value those workout metrics. He would also cost them more than a rookie for the next 4 years.
