I guess we drafted another qb because they didn't want to invest in the oline
Shanny / Lynch were probably drunk when they made this pick... they'll be pissed as hell when the hang over is gone

"Why did we pick oline, we hate oline!!!"

it's hilarious. You guys are excited about undrafted free agents and seventh round picks for the offensive line. That's all we ever get. We got lucky in the third round last year but we totally forgot about it this draft there's two players that could've easily started on our line that we had fallen into our laps in the third round and the second. Even the fourth round, we had somebody that could've competed one of the biggest needs if not, the second biggest need was offensive line. The funny thing is that it was only defensive line because of the definition of insanity. We play such a high priority on defensive line drafting them early Signing players. But yet we still had nobody this season that's bad roster management

Colby was actually on my list for the 5th. So yea he may have went in the 7th I think he was rated higher than that.

Good call, and glad we got good value on him

On another note, wasn't Chase Lundt still around when they decided that a 5'3 CB was a better pick / value

Lundt was the 206th overall selection. We don't know how 31 other teams felt about Stout but we do know Lundt wasn't valued before the sixth round by the 31 other NFL teams.

As for Stouts being undersized, he's basically the same size K'Waun Williams was.
What do you guys think about him beating out batch to start next to Trent? If there is a guy to pair him with in his rookie year - it's Trent.

Iowa is well coached and somewhat similar scheme. Dudes experienced - I wouldn't be mad if we gave him a chance to start.

LG will be a Bartch/Burford battle. I never bought they would do much at guard.

There was also Mbow still there... there must've been a few other oline who could compete with the likes of Pleasants, McKenzie, Bartch, Barford, Z, Johnson, etc. for back up

I hear ya, but it took a while for K and even Reed (smaller DBs for Niners) to develop... this dude is even smaller than K and Verrett, but not near his level. I hope this guy doesn't get hurt. n on even the tape on first page, he did well, but you also see him get burned and holding quite a bit, Sherman would love that

So you don't think there is a chance he could challenge? Maybe something like last year will happen - guys get hurt and Colby gets reps. I think he could fill in just fine but who knows.

It's possible but unlikely I'd say. Those guys have a lot more experience in the system.

Bleacher report had him as a 5th rounfer PFF had him as a top 10 OG going into the draft as well. He actually plays the same scheme as us here is an exerpt in a pre-draft write up (before the draft started):
9. G Connor Colby, IowaPFF Big Board Rank: 198Colby projects as potentially valuable depth in a Shanahan-style outside zone scheme. His lack of a plan and tendency to lunge in pass protection are currently major barriers to his earning a starting role.

He is a guy i thought would be a 5th rounder for us

It would take even longer for Lundt to develop dude

He needs to put on serious weight before he can be an NFL starter
I have a good feeling about this guy

Brendal's replacement hopefully

Train him to be center all through camp plus preseason games, there's a good chance he'd be better than the 2024 Brendel

Apparently JB is training hard to be a much improved Jake, we'll see. Colby gave up 3 sacks and several pressures in 13 games... JB easily done that in just 3 games

https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/jake-brendel/11117

He only has 1 sack given up last season according to PFF.
Can we take a moment to acknowledge his mullet?
