That's not true. Some coach on Seattle will go "Watkins and Cowing are playing." Then another coach will be like oh ok what do they do?" And that's about it but there is some caring there

They don't need to give af nor am I interested if they do or not. What is needed is some man beating receivers and guys that can create space.

This is not something that would happen if he played. This isn't Madden where you plug in a 97 speed wr and you can work with it.

Watkins has done nothing in practice to give shanahan or the coaches confidence he can make any difference in an NFL game. Lining up correctly, being where you are supposed to be, understanding sight adjustments, etc. are all part of playing wr. If he did any of these things we'll he'd be playing.

I hope he turns out to be a good player but shanahan could start him today and he would affect nothing

I've already pointed this out as the reason he probably isn't playing after Kyle said he has to be better than the people in front of him. I'm very aware of what could be holding him back. With that said, spacing is still needed and we have very little speed with our group as is.

It would be silly to start him. No one, absolutely no one, is saying start him. People are asking that he is made active. Its hard to believe he would be a liability on every single assignment on any possible play he would be in on.
So if he's not better than the people in front of him is this another bust? I hear we are projected in one mock to pick KC, who seems to be the same type of guy as Watkins and Cowling. What are we doing with these guys? They never see the field even when we desperately need speed?

I'll give a pass to Watkins because he was injured last year. But if he doesn't make an impact next year that's another bad pick
Danny Gray, Cowling, Watkins Seems like 1 in the Same

They were 4th round picks. The chances of them turning into contributors is slim to none.

Cowing missed the year due to injury after being the best and most improved WR during OTAs. We don't know what he is.

Watkins got injured as well and then couldn't show enough consistency to break into the lineup as a rookie. We don't know what he is.

Yet despite all that and Danny Gray being in the NFL 4 seasons now…both Cowing and Watkins have more yards than him.

Insanely premature comparison.

Love all those preseason All-Pro's.

Point is none of this Guys did nothing and will have done nothing for the 49ers despite been drafted 3/4 rd picks. Geeeez Malik Turner even Got Activated vs The Eagles Wild Card before Cowing and Watkins

Show me where anyone called them all pro.

Pointing out that young players who haven't actually gotten a chance to show what they can or cannot do shouldn't be compared to guys who have had 4 years in the league and have shown less than both of those is a bad comparison.

If you weren't so busy trying to trash anything about this team maybe you could see the obvious.

I explained why the point was bad.

Cowing and Watkins were ironically both last picks in the 4th round. That's borderline 5th round and not 3/4 rd you're labeling them as.

Gray has 1 reception for 10 yards on 7 targets. He's been in the league for 4 years. He was active for 13 games for us.

Watkins has 2 receptions for 26 yards on 3 targets. He was active for 4 games.

Cowing was active for 15 games and had 4 receptions for 80 yards on 6 targets.

Both Watkins and Cowing have time to show they're more than they've shown so far. Gray is a proven speed guy who can't get or produce on the field.
