I bought all his rookie cards…Not gonna lie I lost hope with his missed tackles and injury prone. I might be jumping back on the bandwagon.

So far through OTAs and early TC, it seems that LB2 is his job to lose.

The question with him will be always be about making tackles, taking good angles, and staying in his spots and not overrunning plays. His speed and ability to keep up in coverage is certainly very solid at least, and has clear potential to be great
But with LB and to lesser extent box safeties you wont know much until pads come on and theres live tackling in games. I hope he improved from last year but idk. With someone like Greenlaw you saw his tackling prowess right away.

Greenlaw fit the "all gas no brakes" Saleh mentality perfectly. Hoping Saleh rubs off on Dee the same way.

Dee's nuts. How nice would it be if he can take over for Greenlaw as Warner's wingman.

GO NINERSSSS !!!!

What's up with nick matrtin? Is he still hurt? Winters is pretty good in coverage but is a liability in the run game. Hopefully he turns it around this season we need it bad. Martin vs Winters is a battle in camp I've been excited for

For those worried about him in run defense--don't forget that he's going to be playing behind Alfred Collins and CJ West in base downs. Last year it was Hargrave and Jordan Elliott.
Run fits should be much cleaner this year with those two rook's ability to stay in their gap rather than the aforementioned who were consistently displaced. Additionally, another season under his belt should allow Winters to process things a little bit quicker this year.

There was one egregious missed tackle on the sidelines last season that was memorable for all the wrong reasons.
I hope I'm proven wrong and players do improve. They desperately need a solid weakside LB with Dre gone.

True, true. Most of issues tackling seem to occur in space where he takes bad angles or fails to throttle down his speed to breakdown properly and finish with good technique, which is coachable. If it was from a lack of physicality, that would be a major red flag.
The good thing is that the arrow is pointing up for Dee. Dude just needs to keep putting in the work on and off the field.

That will help but he needs to fix his block shedding, he gets locked up way to often and if a OL gets his hands on him he gets driven back opening holes. Can't rely on rookies to keep the OL at bay when teams run traps or counters targeting Winters

If OL are consistently on getting onto stack LBs, they've got bigger issues than LBs getting off blocks.

I'm not saying consistently there are plays designed for OL to get to the second level like traps or counters but yeah when a OL gets to the second level on Winters its a gaping hole.

I mean even my boy Fred struggles with that. Most modern LBs do. This ain't the past where stack LBs were 250+ pounds. The modern guys must be kept clean.

Nah don't compare Fred to Winters when it comes to getting off blocks 😂 I know what you're saying, he's not Brian Urlacher but he's really good in the run game. Remember him in the beginning of last year before he got hurt? He was blowing shi up looking like the DPOY before he got hurt and that was without Greenlaw
