It has't been neglected. They just sign injured (Richburg) or old(Mack) centers and drafted a meh RT very high. Their day3 picks didn't pan out, but those are day3. Banks needs to be a hit. He and Burford are learning.

Now that the DL is stacked, they should give OL extra attention.

Jalen Moore looked like he has never passed blocked before. They were doing basic moves against him and he wasn't even able to make contact.

None of the backup tackles look good. And we're relying on MM to be 100% healthy and good this year for 17 games. I probably could have told you in February that this was a really bad idea.

I feel like this is somewhat Kyle simply despising preseason games. Wants to get out of them healthy and likely puts more emphasis on practice. Preseason is really the only time we as fans get to see the team in action, but there is no game planning and often many of the starters are out. Especially in this game we saw the Texans first string offense going against what amounts to second and third stringers on defense. And the defense performed fairly well given some of these guys will not see significant snaps.

None of the backup tackles look good. And we're relying on MM to be 100% healthy and good this year for 17 games. I probably could have told you in February that this was a really bad idea.

Let's hope together it's enough. The center position is the one I'm most surprised at. Should have known Mack was retiring and made a better backup plan. Hopefully I'm underestimating Brendl.

Preseason is and always will be a joke, as far as the games outcome anyway. Preseason sucks for the team as much as the fans, but it a necessary evil.

Shanny could have at least started the 1's on the O-line for Lance. Watching the game late, clearly the O-line and D-line were playing the Texans starters while we went in with 2's and 3's. I don't think I saw one starter on defense, just a bunch of backups across the board. I get it, we don't want injuries. This preseason, so I can care less if we win or lose. But you started your YOUNG QB1 with a bunch of backup O-lineman, and it showed. The least you can do is let the starters on the O-line start with Lance. Shanny didn't help Lance today.

How is it "clearly" ? 49ers didnt play Trent and Texans also didnt play their best Olineman in Tunsil
Aside from Trent, all non-injured (ie, McGlinchey) starters started Im pretty sure....the guards in particular were there for many drives.

It's a long season.. I favor keeping obvious starters who know what they are doing out of it.. would have liked no TL in this one to be honest. keep the core guys 100%
