They looked about what is reasonable to expect based on who was in.

The 3 interior O-linemen were the starters

The tackles looked worse.

The Trey haters coming out their caves getting orgasms seeing him not complete anything not noticing he's running for his life with back up tackles playing. Y'all are pathetic

The Trey stans coming out blaming the oline. Not realizing that a mobile QB ALLEGEDLY didn't need an oline. Pathetic

You sound like a complete idiot who never seen a game of football till today. Since when does a mobile qb doesn't need a good oline? Every damn qb needs an oline a mobile qb just makes it easier to avoid sacks and extend plays

He's referring to the Jimmy haters who didn't like the "OL sucks" excuses for Jimmy. Who are now using that excuse for Trey, when they said that a mobile QB would make a bad OL look better.

THE OLINE DIDN'T SUCK LAST YEAR! IT HAD THREE PRO BOWLERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jesus fning chrimony….

Until the playoffs when they couldn't run block (<3 ypc) and had a 45% pressure rate. No biggie.

When the best tackle in football was playing on one leg? Yeah that would be an issue.

Lol. He's 1 dude. The entire OL was punked. But that definitely didn't help matters!

I don't know where you get your pressure rate stats from, but per Pro Football Reference, 49ers QBs were sixth best in pressure per dropback, at 19.3%.

He said playoffs, not regular season.
Ah, well, that's to be expected in the playoffs.

No. They were the worst out of 14 teams.

But were they? Here's Jimmy's pressure rate in the playoffs last year:

Pressures: 6+9+7

Attempts: 25+19+30

Pressure rate: 29.7%

Not 45%.

.
.
.
Burrow:

Pressures: 10+13+10+17
Attempts: 34+37+38+33

Pressure rate: 35.2

Not worst.

.
.
.

So yeah, no.

No. It was actually Prescott and Jimmy 2nd highesr pressure rate.

Then explain the Pro Football Reference data I just posted. I even posted the number of pressures each game.

These numbers are from pff.

So Cris Collinsworth? Lol.

Wouldn't surprise me of that is some sort of "Adjusted pressure rate."

It isn't an adjusted pressure rate. It is the amount of pressures divided by the number of drop backs.

I wanted to bump this because you are using the wrong formula to figure out pressure rate.

Yeah, I caught that, but the number I was using would be BIGGER than the number PFR uses, because what I didn't include was sacks in the denominator. Bigger denominator means smaller number. For example, in the Wild Card game, PFR counts 6 pressures. Jimmy had 25 attempts and wsa sacked zero times. He had one run. Total dropbacks is thus, 25+1. 6/26= 23.1.

His total numbers:

22 pressures. 74 attempts, 4 sacks, 2 runs (80 drop backs), for a total press% of 27.5 per Pro Football Reference.

Explain the MASSIVE difference.

I canceled my subscription to pff but I stand by my research and the statistics I recorded and charted.

I don't remember what the numbers were for the DAL and GB games but Tomlinson and Compton were being abused during the playoffs in pp and Brunskill didn't play that much better. The LAR game, Jimmy dropped back to pass 30 times and was pressured on 50% of those drop backs.

Also, you are going by the number of attempts and not by the number of drop backs.

No that is incorrect. Notice the bold underlined part. I was at first but then corrected it. The result is the same: Burrow was pressured more than Jimmy.

I am not subscribing to pff again just to win an argument. But pff had our O line giving up more pressures than pfr. Pff had our o line giving up 33 pressures in 3 playoff games.

4 sacks on 33 pressures? Seems unlikely. 4 sacks on 22 pressures seems more likely to me.

The splits were

Trent Williams- 7 pressures
Laken Tomlinson- 9 pressures
Alex Mack- 3 pressures
Daniel Brunskill- 5 pressures
Tom Compton- 9 pressures.

Yes. The O line gave up 15 pressures in the NFCCG and gave up 0 sacks. So it is possible.

PFR has 7 pressures.

Now, you are looking at individual linemen. Not every time there is pressure it's because of only one guy. Sometimes two guys allow pressure. Do you count that as the QB being pressured twice? That doesn't make sense to me. Either the QB is under pressure or he's not. The only way it would be two different instances of pressure on a single play is if the QB escapes pressure and then gets pressured again. But at that point he's scrambling, so why would you blame that on the rest of offensive line?

And maybe this is the source of the discrepancy.

That may be the discrepency but the debate was about the O line and their performance during the playoffs. I used the same method for all QB's on my chart so I don't see how that makes a difference. Especially with your example. A QB may still be able to make a play if only one O lineman gives up a pressure on the play. The more O lineman that give up a pressure on a single play, the less likely a QB is to make a play.

Nevertheless, even your method has the 49ers as not having the worst pass blocking in the playoffs. Moreover, there are 14 playoff teams, so even the worst is likely going to be mid-tier in the league.

And MOST importantly, a MID-tier pass blocking offensive line, even one slightly worse than that, is SIGNIFICANTLY better than what we saw today.

What we saw today was Mckivitz and Moore at OT and Sutherland at C.
What an awful game. Hope they got all the ugliness out of their systems and will come out firing on all cylinders in Game 1.
Didn't watch….any big time injuries?

Lol that last play was as far from Russell Wilson as you can get.

Nope. Drake got banged up and attended to on the field but I think he returned.
