QB Brock Purdy Thread

Posted part of this earlier but if you go back and look at the way his elbow got twisted (by Riddick's "hammer") it was obvious that the main injury was not hyper extension of the elbow , but a diagonal twist that meant the ulnar CL got either stretched badly or torn. A complete tear , unfortunately , was the dx.

Good grief, we seem to be cursed with major league injuries esp at QB, but a lot of other positions also. Hopefully this will give new impetus to F.O to see that whoever our QB is, he gets protected by the OL.

IOW, make RT and R side of OL a priority for this coming season, and starting now would be a good time to do so.

so brodie talked mad s**t to jimmy for smirking and Brock for not playing through the injury in the same day?

what a f**king loser

Well, time to give the 🐐 a phone call. Or Aaron Rodgers a phone call. Otherwise, we're screwed

No! Either one would demand 20-30+ Mil. We need $$ to sign Aiyuk, Bosa and CMC. Having 2 capable QB's on rookie salaries is what is going to keep our Super Bowl window open for a while. We just need a backup for Trey while Purdy recovers and hopefully it's a 100% recovery, which I fully expect. Most baseball pitchers come back from this I don't see any reason for Brock to be any different.

Agreed. f**k those old dinosaurs. Just roll with Trey if Purdy's not ready week 1. Draft another QB with an elite 10 yard split and fast processing/decision making lol.

No. roll with jimmy for 1.5 years until brock comes back. We will be in playoffs both years. if we sign a RIGHT TACKLE.

?

Lol
f**kin A man. 4 QB went down this season. Lance pretty much out all year and now Purdy to sit for some time. Now both of them are pretty much starting from scratch with Jimmy G moving on. With the stack of weapons we have and we're on our window, we need to get a vet with the 2 kids lengthy sidelined this year (Lance) and now Purdy. We didn't get a chance to see what could have been if we have a QB yesterday.. and now this. What a gut punch.

Agreed. I feel like there must be a mistake in how that was worded by Shefter.

I love Bennett.
That sucks. You got to respect Brock for coming back in to finish out the game. It must have been very painful for him.

If it is six months he will be available for training camp so that is good. But you got to always be very concerned about long-term stuff with a QBs throwing arm.

Will be interesting to see what that plan will be for QB with two guys coming off injuries. Seems likely they just keep both Purdy and Trey and have them compete in this training camp. While more than likely bringing in a cheap vet for a potential backup option.

the SMARTEST thing to do is to sit him out for the whole year and let that elbow fully heal.. it's almost is a BITTER SACRIFICE and this is also the way to find out if Baby Face Lance is the FUTURE.. let's just hope he can stay healthy and showcase his talent..

ONE thing we surely need to do is find another via draft of a free agent that actually CAN PLAY (unlike Johnson) instead of just knowing the playbook..

draft Bennett late and hope he can a solid REAL 3rd stringer... or find a 3 year veteran or so.. just like that guy from Eason from Indy (if not mistaken) about a few years back..

Please try not to sign McCoy or Glennon or Fitzmajik...

Evidently there are two types of surgery… one completely replaces the ligament while the other reconnects the two parts. The repair has a much shorter recovery period. Probably depends on the nature of the tear.

I say let him sit out the entire year so that we can find out more about Lance..

Mr Irrelevent 2023*
For anyone interested, this is a documentary about Dustin May's experience getting TJ surgery in 2021. Basically shows pre-op & some right after surgery but looks like he came back pitching though, so there is that.

TJ for football is not the same as baseball. Different velocity, volume and arm angle. They are not comparable.

Pitchers come back stronger after TJ. Probably, be the case for Brock, too.
