QB Brock Purdy Thread

Dude will be on a short leash. He comes back all hero ball and throws as many interceptions as tds will force Kyle's hand. There is no qb controversy unless BP forces one… I personally think he will play himself into a backup role. Hope to be wrong.

Force Kyle's hand ? lol.

this is a coach that continues to play Brendel, still thinks handing off to Juice pays dividends, refuses to play his rookies that show potential, and runs his star players into the ground despite having serviceable backups.

Brock could come back and throw 5 INTs vs Az and Kyle will play him to the end and still have starting the week after in Carolina.

Kyle is hard headed. He don't give a s**t what others think and what the right thing to do is. Our best bet is that Brock himself isn't "ready" a Kyle is forced to continue to play Mac. If he was the coach of the Pats in 2000, he would've benched Brady for Bledsoe in an instant when he came back.

Both teams would say no to this imo.

I think Kyle didn't want Brady on the 49ers because Brady would get most of the credit if they won a SB. And Brady would check out of play calls he didn't like. Which would infuriate Shanahan.

Be careful posting this because you got a bunch of Shannanigans and you'll end up on their bad list.. lol... but yes, I have been saying the same thing over and over for the past years..

Shanny would love to win Super Bowls after Super Bowls, but he would not want to win with a player like Brady or Staffy or Aaron because they will get most of the credit...

Kyle has an ego. Which is good. He is a very good HC. I just think he wants to win his way over just plain winning. And a SB win with Tom Brady people would say :"So what. You won a SB with Tom Brady. Anybody can do that."

Even going back to that SB collapse against New England. Was it his idea to snap the ball with twenty seconds on the play clock. Or, throwing passes when in fact running was better?

There is nothing behind this but pure speculation. They didn't bring in Tom Brady because he was coming off the worst season of his career and was turning 43. Meanwhile the 49ers were coming off a SB with Garoppolo.

He literally attempted to trade for Aaron Rodgers which messed up his friendship with LaFleur but it won't stop 9moon from spreading that nonsense like he's onto something. You don't need to join him down that road.

You can hide an inept center who plays along side below average linemen a lot easier than an interception happy QB. Too many eyes on that position to not make the obvious call and blame it on him not being fully recovered. Kyle wants to win games and will make the call.

Both teams would say no to this imo.
What ??? A second round pick and Brock Purdy for Maye on a rookie contract ?

Id do that sht in a heartbeat and I like Brock. Id drive from bay area to Boston and pick Maye up if needed to.

The question is why would the Patriots *ever* do this ? Why would Patriots trade a terrific looking QB on a rookie contract for a 2nd round pick and a QB who is hurt a lot and has certain limitations to his game who has at least one year left of hefty salary attached to him?

The caller is just a delusional homer like many are.

The Pats wouldn't do that trade. Not for Purdy, not even for Mahomes. Maye has been one of the best QBs in the league this year.
I'm excited to see Purdy back on the field. Hopefully he doesn't look too rusty
Waiting for Brock, while my guitar gently weeps

The caller might have been out of it.

New England would hang up the phone immediately.

Bingo. 100% the truth from Cossell.

I don't want to hear that guys aren't separating. There's been several times where Mac has either not seen or chosen to take the short pass. It's why Kyle isn't going to pick him over Brock. The chance for big plays is just so much less.

Yes Mac has taken a couple deep shots and they've been dropped. Not saying he never tries, but you can see it in the passing charts that he almost never tries. And then you see in the all22 it's not for lack of options.

He's just not very good at it. In early 2023 he only completed one deep pass over the first 4 weeks. At this point, he sticks with what he can do well -- short to mid range.

Bottom line is Mac limits the offense, and a healthy Purdy doesn't. Both in terms of mobility and stretching the field. People who want to pretend that this isn't the case are not being real. The only argument you could make is Brock can be more wild with the ball. And that's fair. The problem is, we need a playmaker badly right now who can put up a lot of points with our defense in shambles. We can't just punt and play D.
