We're not going to the Super Bowl. Just shut Purdy down for the season. Is there even a question about this? We have Mac doing what needs to be done.

And of course the latest game people remember from Brock is the Jags game where he was clearly not playing at his own level. Fact is when Brock was healthy he was absolutely dealing vs a Seahawks defense that has been a problem for virtually every QB they've faced outside of Baker Mayfield, though they had a few guys out for that game.
Exactly. The Houston game was not talked about much at all. But if Purdy was playing that game and lost...lol smh. We would hear, "mid", "noodle arm" "supporting cast." "not enough zip" "Stroud is better than Purdy" (lol)..etc. I think of Tim "the tool man" Taylor.., "Rah rah rah." Lol
But if Mac loses, it's because o-line and d-line were trash. Though, some were saying Mac was a statue and wanted the mobility of Purdy back during Houston. I think since Mac is the backup, there is less criticism since he has been doing pretty well and performing above what was initially expected by some ppl.
But I am definitely happy about both qbs. And I do think Shanny gets some credit here. We have seen some qbs get a fresh start here and they really seem to come into their own and become the best version of themselves.

Purdy is facing what Mahomes faced in 2021 when he suffered turf toe in the 2021 AFC Divisional playoff game agains the Browns. He went on an played thorugh it through the Super Bowl which they lost and then just a few days after the Super Bowl loss he had surgery on it and then made it back for team OTA's. I imagine Purdy is in the same category and just like Mahomes, who never used his toe as an excuse, it impacted Mahomes ability to avoid the defense of Tampa. I think Purdy would be in the same category. We'll see if Purdy makes it back this year and luckly Jones seems to being doing okay. There is still a part of me that hopes a miracle happens and the Niners can play in the Super Bowl in their own stadium and win it . . . it would be nice but not sure if that will happen. Just taking one game at a time right now.

If he comes back this year and injures that toe even worse this forum will erupt about how stupid Kyle was to let him return. I'm sur Purdy wantsa to get back but it seems like a high risk for a low reward rigfht now.
Exactly!!!! Look what happen when he came back vs Jacksonville!!! I don't want him to come back and s**t the bed then after the game hear about how his toe is bothering him. Screw it just sit him, get healthy and show up next season injury free.
Honestly Mac Jones has taken a beating this season, let him finish this season off with a Super Bowl win. He deserves it.

Lol would love for Mac to win the SB but honestly, with this broken team..it's a bit delusional to think so. We can't even win with an all-star roster..cause Shanny decided to s**t the bed and CMC did the unthinkable when it was all on the line..Chris Jones.. lol. Shan needs to stay clutch during the big moments, not overthink and get those deer in the headlights eyes lol.

Maybe he needs to take over the QB spot and not throw an INT at a crucial moment or become an O lineman that can block and prevent pressure late in games. Seriously Kyle calls the plays but the players need to execute. When the plays work it's all about how great they are but when the plays fail it's because of bad coaching.

Players did s**t the bed in that game but so did Shanny. Just sucks that he seems to play scared in the big games/overthink etc...but I digress. Maybe he will get one for us but idk.

Or coach could make it so simple that the players can watch the scoreboard instead of executing

I kept mentioning this play before the Super Bowl even started... how did the coaches not have them ready for it??? Kyle is the Head Coach, he needed to make sure the DC drilled it into their heads that it was coming.
They did the same s**t the previous year (2023) at the Super Bowl..

Edit- actually they did it TWICE!!!

Here's the thread I created asking about it before our Super Bowl...😐

Idk how Andy does it, but we never seem to have that from Kyle in the big moments, and there's been plenty. It's just the same ole straight dropbacks and let the defense dictate where the ball goes. Its better to simplify and attack, especially on gotta have it plays. Even with Mahomes Andy makes it stupid simple, but we absolve Kyle of all blame when he could do the same for his offense/QBs

I don't know. Didn't the giants go 9-7 and win 2 Superbowls? Just got hot in the playoffs

Their defense wasn't decimated like ours.

Safe to say he's probably not coming back this year. No point in risking further injury to that toe when we're clearly not trying to win any more games this season.

They had an elite DL and two very good RB's. Better HC, DC, and legit #1 WR.

its beautiful design because the motion here isnt to actually see what coverage theyre in, but to exploit zone coverage and make them pass off the receiver who abruptly goes back as the ball is snapped. the defenders typically expect the motion to go across the formation and everyone is caught going in the wrong direction
with all that said, that play or not the SB was lost way way before that play. I knew as soon as Chiefs converted that 4th down easily that it was game over.
