Easy to play "tough guy" if one is a super competitive athlete. But sometimes, it can get the better of ya. The dude had to play with a metal plate though, so..they knew but probably tried it out cause Mac was also hurt but didn't turn out so well. They should have rested Brock.

We would be 5-0
You want your big payday player to tough guy it. Thats a Leader. Especially with others out. He struggled but was not a direct liability. Chances are he's attempted this before and pulled it off.

Unless he was incapable of doing his job he should be out there. He was and he had a few poor plays. Move on IMO

Jones is a straight up street dawg.

But, the one that needed to be kept was Darnold. Strong arm and moves.

I would have like to see Zach Wilson as a reclamation project under Kyle. He may be shot now though.

This also intrigued me.

Maybe Darnold should have been kept but by then they had already decided on Purdy.

MATTY ICE 2.0 !!!

That would be the wise thing to do Imo and would give Brock more than enough time to heal up and come back fully healthy

Shades of Jimmy Harbawz decision to stick with Kap over Alex back in the day. Poor Alex but we went pretty damn far. Next Sunday will be telling. Let's see if the bench clowns can run their routes and separate on Tampa Bay for Mac. It could easily get ugly AF down there if they can't. I hope Shanny comes in with a surprise game plan. Regardless, probably going to come down to the wire again.

The Bucs are playing the Seahawks tommorrow so maybe they'll get beat up a little. Kyle will be able to view that film and get a look at what works and what doesn't against them. So will Saleh.

The problem is the elephant in the room is the huge gigantic contract, just can't get around that even though I'm sure a lot of fans just say F the triple digit, million dollar deal.

I heard they can get out of the contract with minimal cap implications after 2026. If they keep him beyond that they can't get out of it without a big cap hit. Purdy needs to play well the rest of this season and next year or they may very well move on.

Or he felt better and confident and was simply incorrect and then also aggrevated the injury that had healed to the point for him to feel that way. Not everything has to be a deception.

There are no outs in the contract.

Such a dumb contract. He was not the QB to give that kind of money to. Hopefully they can somehow surrounded him will elite guys at the skill positions again if they want to replicate 2023.

I'm sure you have more information on the situation than the team...

Nonstop overreactions here. Some of you are just complaining to just complain. It's happening with Purdy. It will happen with Mac. Only solution is to find an elite QB like Mahomes/Allen and that's not easy to do and would require a lot of roster and coaching turnover...in which case you'd be complaining about the rest of the roster and the coaching.

Wait.. you don't think any teams have ever given out bad contracts? Every contract the 49ers have ever done has 100% of the time worked in their favor?

You're giving up on Purdy awfully early. Let the young guy take some lumps. He's still a guy that has proven to be an upper echelon QB over large stretches of his career.

For whatever reason too many fans lack any semblance of patience or perspective. They are like weather vanes that point to whatever direction the wind blows.
