Mac Jones playing with scrubs but obviously hurt is balling out verse a healthy Purdy in 2024 playing with scrubs who was just mediocre. 🤔🤔🤔
"Someone on Youtube", huh? They're just parroting the same tired narrative that has zero basis in reality.

The "scrubs" Mac Jones was playing with balled out. Kendrick Bourne had over 140 yds and Mac actually had a #2 TE that's worth a damn in Tonges and a healthy CMC. On top of that, he has the benefit of a defense that is playing out of their minds. Purdy didn't have that luxury last year.

So, no comparison. You will find ZERO examples of any QB performing well and winning games with a totally trash supporting cast.

I wonder if either Mac or Brock will be fully healthy this year. Not sure exactly how bad Mac's knee is and turf toe can last a long time. It's one of those things that keeps popping up every time you think it's healed.

Who's "siding up" anyone? It's pointing out that our starter needs to get back to what he did in 22/23 when it comes to running this offense. We just saw how well it can go with a capable back up and 2nd/3rd string guys vs a top end D.

folks gotta stop getting so defensive about everything…not everything in life needs to be my tribe vs your tribe

This. We know Brock is capable of playing well, but he has not been as good lately. Hoping he can get back to the level of play he was in 23.

It's a team sport.

You expect these ppl to look at the bigger picture?

Devil's advo states BP is 0-2 if Tonges doesn't bail him out with that game saving TD / catch

Nonetheless, and regardless who starts, there will be (either one if healthy) a competent leader waiting on the bench

MRI shows he re-aggravated the turf toe. I expect they'll put him on IR until the bye.
Turf toe brings up bad memory with Patrick Willis.

Neon Deion in the 90s. That Dallas cemented field wrecked his foot.

Yep

I don't see it being that long.

I think the MRI resets the recovery clock at four weeks. That means he comes back against the Rams at Levis.

We will never truly know but I believe the only reason Purdy played against the Jags (and he shouldn't have) was because Jones was not ready to play on that bum knee. Of course the only other option was Martinez and he wasn't ready at all. We are close to a Josh Johnson deal.

Mac did fine despite your pregame pessimism. You seem to catastrophise a lot.

If Mac is winning why would they risk bringing Purdy back in until fully healthy? That would just be dumb. He will also be rusty and need to shake that off. If he comes back too soon, reaggravates his toe and has another Jags game Kyle will look stupid.

My guess is Purdy played "tough guy" and thought he could get through it. He convinced everyone he could, and since Jones was hurting, they bought into it. Big mistake. I hope everyone has learned a lesson.

That doctor…you mean my wife? lol

again there's degrees to "turf toe" and PCL injuries. No one knows the severity of either outside of the fact that both have missed time.

I'm not the one proclaiming one is worse than the other, but acting like one matters and can be used as an excuse, while the other can't sure as s**t isn't being objective.

no one is asking for an essay…just keep s**t real and understand it's okay to be critical of your favorite football player, he's not gonna get upset.

Oh yeah you're wife, sorry dude, forgot. But she is like an ortho doctor right? Might know about this kinda stuff.

And totally cool with Brock criticisms, I have thrown out a couple here and there, shocking I know lol. He has had some inaccuracies and kinda needs to keep things simple sometimes but the argument made it sound like if Mac can play, why not Purdy? Well...duh? Turf toe is a B..takes down the toughest of dudes. And it would be super dangerous to just play through it lol..could be career ending.
Artifical turf, is lame. Montana never had tt because there was no artificial turf, obviously..but if he ever got it, kiss his beautiful footwork goodbye.
Something tells me that the turf toe is much worse than they have said

Easy to play "tough guy" if one is a super competitive athlete. But sometimes, it can get the better of ya. The dude had to play with a metal plate though, so..they knew but probably tried it out cause Mac was also hurt but didn't turn out so well. They should have rested Brock.
