Perfect 30+ air yard ball for the arm strength guys. Is his arm elite; no, but it's more than fine

He might not have a cannon, but it's plenty strong.

Ya I've seen enough of his arm now to say he can play at a high level with that arm.

As long as he keeps working on his ball placement, he can be a good QB.

He's got a good enough arm, sees the field well, can throw with anticipation, has more than enough athleticism, and most importantly he has a high football IQ.

From here on out its all up to Purdy to decide how hard does he want to work every offseason to get better.

Also I think Brady increased his arm strength after starting out not as strong, so its possible that Purdy can build up his arm strength a little bit more. Currently he is good enough to make all the throws we need him to. He doesn't need to throw it 60+ yards down the field.
Born 2 days after Christmas, he really is the Christmas miracle lol 🎅 🎄

Demonstrated his short distance speed, his ability to not get caught by an NFL cornerback.

Yeah, Purdy is 22 years old. He can absolutely increase him arm strength through strength training and mechanical refinement. That said, I don't think he has issues throwing it 60 yards down the field right now if he's got a clean pocket to step into. The arm strength questions are really about the drive throws ie throws to outside the numbers from the far, opposite hash. He can definitely improve those, but he'll likely never be throwing those on a rope. He's got to learn to survive with timing, anticipation and ball placement on those throws.

100%. The arm strength is much more about the drive throws than the deep throws. I think he already has a more than adequate arm for an NFL QB, and he certainly can improve in strength training and mechanical refinement.

Agreed. He has worked on arm strength during the draft process. There's an article out there with his QB camp explaining what that worked on.

I tried to find his wunderlic score but came up short. I kept hearing how it takes two years to run Shanahan's offense. This is the best I've seen it run. He must have a high football IQ.

Honestly he reminds me of Drew Brees. Around 6'1" 212 lbs. Not the strongest arm in the world. But plenty strong enough. Great read and anticipation. Gets the ball out quick. Throws a very accurate ball. Can really place some dimes. Spins the ball beautifully too. Throws really tight spirals. I think he can make all the throws. That 45 yards in the air to Kittle was a perfect dime. It's more than enough arm strength and accuracy.

With more mobility. Like a poor man's Russell Wilson at QB. Not quite that mobile. But his 10 yard splits allow him to scramble for yards and buy time outside the pocket to extend the play.

1 and 2 are in danger of not getting their jobs back IMO.

This might be the best comparison to his actual style of play , yet. He plays like Bree's but has the moxie of Brady. Not a bad comparison.

Yeah I think it is. He's very accurate and about that size. Enough arm strength to be an excellent QB. But not a cannon. Which you don't need. He sees the field like a 10 year veteran. He throws a very accurate ball and tight spiral. It's amazing. He's already very good. With more upside too.

I disagree, Trey will be Brocks backup next year, unless he does a nose dive the rest of the season and it's an early exit in the playoffs. Brock is ready to go now, Trey needs more time to develop into what Brock already is.

Agree with ya, mayo

Yup. Trey has never looked this poised.
