Tell me about it. If anything, Brock will learn to eat it a few more times, play a little less hero ball, throw a few less contested passes, not throw into jumping defenders, etc. The kid is smart. He learns by doing. And if anything, this could end up being a blessing in disguise. Find that balance. The check downs were there.

my one critique of brock, and this has been for awhile now, is making a bad play worse, but that's definitely correctable

Yup and he mentioned it after this game, and after the Jags game. Seems extremely coachable.

No doubt. He was throwing up contested passes all night. He probably could have had 3 more INT's too if we're being honest. That's a credit to a sticky defense, a receiving group not getting separation at the top of their routes and Brock forcing the action and being too risky. Sometimes you just gotta take the easy and safe underneath stuff until a defense is softened up.

Scheme wise, Kyle was getting his usual guys wide open in the MOF so we got some yardage for sure.

Brock will learn. I'm not worried at all about that.

Or we can run the ball with the best RB in the league to soften them up. Even if you take away that 39 yard run, CMC was still averaging 4.9 yards per carry. Coming out with a pass heavy game plan against the #1 pass defense when they are most vulnerable against the run and we have the best RB in the league is just pure arrogance.

Especially when it proved to be working. This just 'felt like a game plan trying to highlight his QB vs. the RB which was working. Pete Carroll would be proud.

Its games like that where I wish we came out with more of a Jimmy G or Jim Harbaugh type of game plan. Pound the ball, impose your will and pass only when the situation calls for it.

You guys are a broken record on this. You obviously missed the part about us outgaining them like 150-50 to start the game and putting up 225 yards or so in the first half. Take away a couple bad decisions and a tipped pass and we're up 20 at halftime.

I was the first one on here to point out that fact thank you. Doesn't negate the fact that going pass heavy lead to 5 turnovers and only 17 offensive points. Yards do not win you games, points do. Some of you guys think that Kyle can do no wrong. I am a big Kyle advocate but I am no homer with blinders on.

I think it's a mix. The opportunities were there, Purdy just had too many bad plays. Kyle trusts him a lot, and unfortunately this time he happened to let us down.

Now, at the same time, yeah maybe Kyle could've called different stuff but hindsight is kinda 20/20 when it comes to some of those fluke plays.

Would have to consider down and distance on some of those plays. Sometimes we had no choice but to pass and we can't guarantee a few extra runs would've worked.

Guess I just see both sides of it and think it's hard to blame Kyle too much at least on play calling.

So a) while yards do not equal points the coorelation is as solid as can be (I built a model based on yardage differential) b) I do not think Kyle can do no wrong, believe me and c) we agree on just about everything so please don't think I was trying to be snarky.
The amount of hate on Purdy on Twitter is just sick. It's Nick WRONG level HOT TAKES.

I've never seen a QB or player get so much criticism on a social platform or tv media for just doing there job and playing the game of football. It's like they have an agenda to tear him down.

Yeah they do. It's just way beyond hate. It's personal. Like they want to prove his draft position was right and everyone else is wrong. It's all just smoke and mirrors. I don't see people complaining that Tua has the Olympic 4 X 100 relay team. Or that Dak or Hurts have brick wall offensive lines. It's always just tear down Purdy all day long.

Obviously I'm very happy with Kyle and Purdy, it's nice to finally see our offense be able to perform well all around, but this was the type of game where we should've ran more for sure, especially early on.

Agree 💯%, the game plan was not fine. Evidence - we lost.

Brock just needs to play better.

Sorry but no. Going into the game with a pass heavy game plan against a defense that gives up an average of 5.0 yards per attempt (best in the league), leads the league in sacks and are one of the best in taking the ball away through the air is not a good game plan. Ravens are 22nd in the league in stopping the run and CMC gashed them multiple times in the game. The only excuse I can up with for not running the ball more is because we want to preserve CMC for the playoffs and that game wasn't a must win.

That's correct and random is wrong. The overly simplistic HOT TAKE. It's the QB. It's the QB. He's sounding like Nick WRONG. It's more complex. Our gameplan was absolutely horrible. The offensive line was a joke on pass blocking. Including injuries too and even before the injuries.

Personally, I don't think guys like Random watch the games.

I don't think he does either. I think Nick WRONG and HOT TAKES are his favorite.
Some GOON on Twitter.

36 year old Josh Johnson scored against the Eagles last year in the NFC Championship game. Not counting that Purdy had a torn elbow that required surgery early. Not looking at what what Purdy did this year against the Eagles. Josh Johnson is clearly better and you don't need Purdy.

That was his HOT TAKE. You can't make this up.

Agree, Montana didn't have a rocket arm, but he had some legendary comebacks. You don't need a huge legendary comeback if you have a good/great defense. This offense is very explosive, and given some good pass protections, Purdy's arm and the kind of recievers he has - absolutely can come from behind. It's just that they haven't needed to since they are ahead most of the time (because the offense is so explosive).

Agree, Hot takes don't take a lot of intellect to make up. All it takes is a lot of ignorant emotion and a reactionary kind of thought process to do. I.e. not a lot of braincells are needed to post those kinds of opinions. Sad to say.

I mean how can anybody honestly watch Josh Johnson and Brock Purdy and believe this? Johnson is pure trash. Purdy has great anticipation, timing and throwing accuracy.
