Brock Purdy over the last 3 games.

69% completion
7.3 YPA
36.9 1st down%
7.1 TD%
1.2 INT%

On 3rd down he is completing 76.7% of his passes with 2 TD's and 0 INT's.

Nice completion percentage.

what's his air yards lookin like?
Low. Under 6 yards per.

AND I DON'T CARE. Kid's a baller.

Just looked it up. He is currently tied for 13th in the league. His air yards per attempt is higher than Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, Derek Carr, Aaron Rodgers, Jimmy Garoppolo and Justin Herbert.

Like I asked the other poster. If going by pfr stats. How can a QB have more air yards per attempt than yards per attempt?
Because that fantasy site's stats actually use completed passes in their stats, while PFR considers ATTEMPTS, not just completions, in the number. Further, PFR's stats do not include YPA, but rather only YPC. Hover over the categories and you will see.

That stat is useless than. Who cares about how many yards an incomplete pass went. The damn pass was incomplete and is no better or worse than a 2 yard incomplete pass. 😂

I'm also old enough to remember when the likes of Shaun Hill (same number and even kinda sorta lookalike haha), JTO, and even Troy Smith were thought to be the Cinderella stories only to eventually crash down to Earth. Even Jimmy to a lesser extent…outside of 2019…never really got back to that "magic" we saw during that 2017 5 game stretch.

But I will say Brock definitely is the only QB so far (between himself, Jimmy, and Trey) where I don't feel like something catastrophic could happen when he drops back. Lol so that's good.

So far most of the catastrophic plays have been called back due to penalty or completely dropped. That's OK though, I don't expect perfection...

So impressive. Add the fact that one of those games was on a short week playing hurt and it becomes even more impressive.

It means he has some of the Luck of the Irish in him.

Wilson definitely had a ton of lucky of plays when he played against us.

Brock's checklist so far in case anyone is interested.

Can he win coming off the bench? CHECK
Can he beat the tons of blitzes? CHECK
Can he make off schedule plays? CHECK
Can he win when they game plan for him? CHECK
Can he beat a legit defense? CHECK
Can he outplay the GOAT? CHECK
Can he win in a hostile environment? CHECK
Can he play hurt? CHECK
Can he win a playoff game?
Can he win a playoff game on the road?
Can he win the NFCCG on the road?
Can he win the Super Bowl?

Can he avoid catastrophic season ending injuries?
Can the fanbase continue to rally around him and accept him as the starter when Trey is available again?

Perhaps, pro football reference's air yards per attempt counts passes that were incomplete as well? If that is the case, that stat is pretty damn useless.

Huh? Of course it includes incompletions. The stat is "per attempt" not "per completion." Its not useless at all.

Do people understand that this kid knows how to move and when to move in the pocket and out of it. Crazy!

So is normal Yards per Attempt useless too because it includes incompletions?

Yes it is useless. So stat sites should include "would be yards" for QB's in their total passing yards for incompletions as well?

No. Because they aren't including "would be yards" for incompletions.

If he beats Trey out in the QB competition next training camp absolutely.

Bill Parcells rules for drafting a qb. apparently scouts did not get the memo from the other 31 teams.

Be a three-year starter. Purdy four year starter
Be a senior in college. check
Graduate from college. check
Start 30 games. 42 games
Win 23 games. way more
Post a 2-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio. check
Complete at least 60% of passes thrown. check

I do think Purdy was drafted too late for what he's worth, but this is not a good checklist. Josh Allen only checked one of these boxes coming out of Wyoming—barely.
