Right. We saw what happened in Denver when Jimmy was in that situation. He lost track of where he was and stepped out of the back of the end zone. Jimmy has way more experience and still messed up. That's more of a compliment to Brock than it is a criticism of Jimmy. In those situations teams apply extra pressure to force a bad throw or get a sack or safety. Purdy stayed cool and didn't mess up at a time when it could have turned the game around. How many times have we seen games in Seattle turn on something like that?

Which is why I was soo angry the returner didn't fair catch it around the 10. You only let it go if it is going to fall behind the 5 yard line.

Crazy how times have changed. In years past, you NEVER would catch the ball at the 10 yard line. Returners were always taught to let it go. Now that has changed to the 5.

Just looked it up. He is currently tied for 13th in the league. His air yards per attempt is higher than Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, Derek Carr, Aaron Rodgers, Jimmy Garoppolo and Justin Herbert.
I'm in love with this kid. Im pretty sure so is shanny. He's got so much confidence. And the way he immediately starts studying the plays on the sidelines.

My favorite play, although it was called back, was when he slipped, got up, juked the defender, and threw a dart to aiyuk.

It is unlikely, but who knows

Not sure where you are seeing this. His IAY/A is 6.0 which would rank him 33rd in the NFL. Every single QB you mentioned is above him, including Jimmy (who ranks 25th).

So if you go by pfr, how can Tom Brady have more air yards per attempt than he has yards per attempt?

Justin Smith strongly disagrees.

Like I asked the other poster. If going by pfr stats. How can a QB have more air yards per attempt than yards per attempt?
Perhaps, pro football reference's air yards per attempt counts passes that were incomplete as well? If that is the case, that stat is pretty damn useless.

Like I asked the other poster. If going by pfr stats. How can a QB have more air yards per attempt than yards per attempt?
Because that fantasy site's stats actually use completed passes in their stats, while PFR considers ATTEMPTS, not just completions, in the number. Further, PFR's stats do not include YPA, but rather only YPC. Hover over the categories and you will see.
Purdy has two long TD pass outside the numbers, has shown he can throw this, which Jimmy avoids. Gameplan kept it safe against the Seahawks which is influencing the air yards, maybe due to his injury. I don't think air yards are anything to worry about, yet.
