I cant tell if he was throwing where he expected him to be or if he just way threw into the inside. Either way this was a bad throw in a situation we couldn't have it. The 2nd one on the next drive was not that bad at all. we Less then 30 second left and no timeouts. He was one the run and we desperately needed a chunk play to have a realistic chance soon of winning that game. He forced a throw on prevent coverage. It wasn't as bad as people are trying to make it. It just looks way worse when it is coming off the poor Browns performance.

I think you were posting last night but I definitely agree with you in how you're judging those two picks. The first one was definitely worse IMO.

Overall, yes good take.

See I don't think the first was as on him as most think. If Aiyuk is running that route it's caught imo. Jennings got rerouted early and allowed the defender contact too long, then at the top of his route threw in a juke/fake that did absolutely nothing and seemed as though it was ad-lib and not part of the design. Purdy is the QB who threw the ball so he is ultimately responsible but I think Purdy was throwing to where he expected Jennings to be, and between the contact Jennings should have done a better job of getting off of and the juke move at the end of the route it slowed him enough that he wasn't able to get to where he was supposed to be. Now Brock has to see if the contact is enough that it's going to disrupt the route and not throw that ball, but he can't anticipate Jennings taking all that much longer with the juke move when throwing a timing route like that.

Then it hit me; when I'm old and she's grown up, I won't wish that I watched more Niners games. I'll wish I could take her to dance one more time. So I took her to dance. Turned my phone off and just watched it on DVR when I got home, caught up by halftime. Yes I was frustrated about the game, defense was getting abused like cheap hookers, and Purdy didn't come through when he had the chance. But we have a damn good team, with guys who are playing as hard as they can. We have a talented young QB with all of the traits a QB needs to be a star. Games and losses like this build character and the team will be better for it. WE ARE OKAY.

People really need to chill out. Go for a walk outside and watch the sunset or something. Good lord lol.

Now this is a good post! Nice perspective, Furlow. And, you're right...this team will learn, make adjustments & get better from this to right the ship.

Well we're a little older and went through the growing pains with Walsh and Montana BEFORE the glory years. And even during the glory years, we blew it so many times, including Montana. Hell, most people don't even know that in the '81 NFCCG, Montana threw three INT's! He was pretty bad in that game, until the end of course. I see many similarities with Kyle/Purdy and the group as a whole. We have something special, just need to keep working and grinding. A fan base with some faith and heart would certainly help.

I agree with this
Another gem by Grant Cohn. He seems to think that if Brock struggles again, the team is going to fake an injury and replace him with Darnold after the bye. I just don't see any scenario where that happens.

He was playing good for the first three qtrs. Unfortunately, he had a meltdown the last two drives that ended up being the final nail in the coffin. It sucks. I don't think anyone is okay with the last two drives.

his first pick wasn't good but the last one was just a hope and a prayer. that final drive completely changes if we have just one timeout.

no need for a hope and a prayer. there is time on the game clock. don't need to play 500 until it's the final play. just wait for min to do their zero blitz

That's true but it's a lot more of an understandable mistake a young QB would make in that spot. It's an example of a bad decision, and I don't think Brock has made many of those.

agreed, eventually you gotta force the action, and I believe he felt that, I just wish he lived to see the next down
that was a 2nd down play, with 34 secs, the ball he put up had simply no chance,

Can we stop with the Montana comparisons? Brock hasn't won big like Joe yet.

Pretty much, I call him a TMZ reporter.
