QB Brock Purdy Thread

To me, those are the kind of throws we have been missing from a QB for as long as I can remember, literally. We never seem to make those tough small window throws or even attempt them - with any QB we've had the last 20 years. It's beautiful 😍

Literally since TO and Jeff

Perfect example was that pass into the endzone where the PI was called. He had Kittle open short for the first down but looked further to go for the TD while placing the ball where only his receiver could get to it.

According to NFL.com, Purdy is now the #16 ranked QB in the league, after two games!

'His performance against the Bucs was beyond clean. Crisp doesn't do it justice, either. Purdy hit the scene as nothing short of a fireball, burning up Tampa's beguiled defense with aggressive downfield shots inside a playbook that appeared no different than anything Jimmy Garoppolo brought to the table. Kyle Shanahan showed immense faith in the 2022 NFL Draft's final pick, prompting Purdy to dial up heaters to an unstoppable Christian McCaffrey and willingly taking punishment on his pinpoint scoring dart to Brandon Aiyuk. The newbie nabbed PFF's highest grade, made his proud parents weep and offered hope for San Francisco's playoff visions."

Exactly this. I wasn't criticizing Shanahan. I was just saying what I think Shanahan shouldn't be doing.

I have seen a light turn on in shanny with purdy that I haven't seen with Jimmy or Lance or any other qb.

The play-calling hasn't been different. The way the QB is executing those plays and how they've played when pressured imo has been different. Brock is moving/feeling pressure much better than Jimmy, which is creating positive outcomes.

I can't agree with this. Even shanahan's sideline demeanor has changed. I mentioned this in the preseason. Shanahan looks more excited when Purdy is in and was also much more aggressive in both playcalling as well as in game situations. Just look at that td drive before half against the bucs. If that was Jimmy or Lance, Shanahan calls it with shriveled nuts. It's a completely different Shanahan with Purdy in.

I need confirmation from one of you guys with the NFL all-22. This looks like a no-look pass. Please tell me our last-pick-of-the-draft, rookie QB isn't making no-look passes in his first start?

I don't think it's a no look pass, but I'm not positive.

Oh my god, it WAS a no-look pass. Look at his helmet in relation to the throw and #56's reaction. The massive balls on this kid.

Yeah, it wasn't to the degree of what Stafford and Mahomes do, but it definitely looks like he no-looked it to me.

You cant go by the helmet.
His eyes could be crossed over to Kittle.
Didn't come across as a no look pass to me
