I hope they don't play him during preseason at all really, maybe just a couple starts if that. Want Purdy as healty as possible. Put in Sam for now. Let him solidify qb2 I guess lol.

Why wouldn't he play? We are gonna ask for 4 qtrs vs the Steelers right? He can do a series or two in preseason. You want him to sharp as possible, for the opener.

He needs the reps. Not playing him is not wise. He needs a couple of sets each game. We may not like what we see game 1 if he sits….

I believe coaches value joint practice more than preseason games. Teams don't want to do anything other than very basic core plays in preseason because they don't want other teams to see the films. In joint practice they don't have to worry about that. Purdy got a ton of work in the joint practice. I do expect him to play a bit in the other preseason games.

Yup. That works. He just needs a few reps in a game situation. We definitely can't afford an injury.
