Bro, we are going to destroy the Steelers. Lol

The first qb taken in their draft and the last taken in their respective draft, duking it out. Brock was the best rookie qb last year and their defense isn't as good as ours.

i respect tomlin, but I think we go in confident and focused, with Brock at the helm. I've always felt like the team was so flat and no energy when lance is out there. Then mediocre energy with jimmy and then totally on fire when Brock is out there. It's like you can feel their confidence in who's playing qb.

If I'm being honest, I think you feel this way mostly due to the timing each QB played.

We've always struggled early in the season, even in 2019 we were sloppy in week 1.

I definitely feel like the team has more confidence in Brock, and Jimmy, but Kyle's scheme is never firing on all cylinders out of the gate, especially the OL.

IMO Week 1 could be tougher than we expect, I expect Purdy to play well regardless, can't say the same about the whole team.

Damn I just read the full article, amazing. Essentially what most of us have been saying all off season.

god I hope purdy doesn't regress

because he is THE perfect qb for kyle's system

My favorite part was where purdy was trailing Warner and Williams after practice and overhears Warner saying he can't wait to see Brock throw the next day, not knowing Brock was behind him.
When two of the best players (one on offense and one on defense) are saying that about you, you know you have some talent. Probably made Brock feel good about himself and confident in his approach.

i love how humble he is. I've always said that "play to prove people wrong" attitude is build on anger and hate, it's better to play to prove people right - that motivation last longer.

i freakin love having Brock man. I can't wait for him to continue his amazing journey with us and help us win a chip. Having a young awesome qb would be the best thing ever.
It think this week Brocky is going to be able to practice without limitations, no more days off

Maybe! It's definitely a concern because almost every year, besides, 2019, we've started out slow. Specifically on offense.

it seems like our offense starts off really clunky and Inefficient, then out defense gets tired/sloppy. Which usually results in us losing games we shouldn't.

im hoping the team can come out and be more effective out the gate, we just need to get some early scores, you don't want to be in a one possession game against the Steelers - they're built to compete in those and want that kind of game. They can't keep up if we score early and control the game that way.

Even if we start of good the game will probably be tough. The margins are thin in the league and the Steelers have a lot of talent.

Early games are tough cause the film is flimsy and old. I just don't think Pickett will be able to keep up with a high scoring game (24+). So if we can get some early scores and control the tempo, we will be in a great spot. Apparently Pickett looks improved (year 1-2 jump). So that'll be interesting. Hopefully our defense suffocates him.

they do have some good talent. I like Minkah, Watt, etc. Steelers always have some really nice talent. Their front office is stable and consistent - I have a lot of respect for that organization.

Yea, I'd be (happily) surprised if we're putting up more than 24 points in that game. We'll see how things shakeout going into that game.

Damn I just read the full article, amazing. Essentially what most of us have been saying all off season.

Man o man, Kyle is going to win so many games with this guy. Talk about job security for Kyle. He'll be coaching for the next (at least) 15+ years unless Brock wants to play till he's 45. That will be 20+ years if Brock goes the way of Tom.

It's mid day, Giedi, don't make me too aroused. 😍😍🤘.

i can't wait to see more Brock. I loved the way he played, he showed so many special traits last year. He made mistakes, he has things he needs to improve upon, but I'm confident he knows that and will. He won't be perfect this upcoming season but he will be awesome.

i kind of expect him to make more mistakes early on, but still make some really good plays, so it'll balance out. Then as he gets more games under him - he will get more crisp.

once there is an actual game plan, he's studied the defense etc - I think we will see a much crisper Brock. I love his story, man. It has the feelings of the next all time great story. If he can keep his trajectory, we are in for a hell of a 10-15 year run. Kyle might of found his "dude"

If anybody can make a QB have a miserable day its' Mike Tomlin. He'll blitz Purdy, no doubt about it. Still, it can go bad for him if CMC gets free in the flat and he has yards to run before he gets touched - it's going to be a big day for CMC if Mike does that.

Sucks that Latu is so raw. I wanted that two tight end set for Brock, seeing as he loves to throw to his TE's. Hopefully Braden Willis can break into the 53 man roster. If Brock can keep up with Kyle's brain, there's going to be a lot of opposing defenses this year that will be burned to the ground.

I've just always been an optimist. Hahaha I think our guys have earned the benefit of the doubt after last season to at least get off to a good start this year.

we have a tough schedule this year, at least it seems that way right now, so we need to get off to a good start and build on it. If we want to fight for the #1 seed, we can't afford to blow a few gimmes early in the season live we've done the last few years.

I'll be optimistic that Brock can help us with that until he proves he cant.

What the s**t That says it all
At this point, even if Purdy is Jimmy G level, that still should be plenty to contend for a Super Bowl Plus, way cheaper than Jimmy for now. Dude is just in year two and still can grow even more from here.

Great article.

"It's that old saying: Don't count your reps. Make your reps count."- John Lynch

Purdy did all he could to get back in the game: "I was taping my arm every which way, to see if something could help." He waited 30 minutes to see whether it would calm down. It didn't. The pain, both physical and mental, was miserable. Even in the moment, he knew dark days were ahead.

"You watch the film and, man, we were rolling those first couple plays, you just feel good about it," he continues. "Those are the kinds of games you dream about being in growing up, you're one game away from the Super Bowl, you're in a hostile environment, I mean, I love playing in stuff like that. And then, boom, your arm gets snapped, and you gotta get surgery, and now the question is, are you gonna be back for the [next] season?"

Great read.

The WZ should post it in their feed, it's accurate instead of the Grant Cohn stuff.
