when mullens was playing, this team really had no expectations and were pretty injured. He was able to go out there and just try to do his best, but there were no expectations.

Brock is coming in with essentially no preparation but the team as a whole has super high aspirations and he took over right in the thick of things. Purdy obviously has a better roster than mullens did but he's been thrust into QB1 on a Super Bowl ready roster - not a lot of people can handle that and still perform very well.

brock has definitely shown some special traits in his limited body of work, I'm very excited to watch him for the rest of the year. I do expect him to have some issues in Seattle with it being a big divisional game in that ridiculously loud environment.

I mean, as elated and as excited as I am for Purdy, we all know even the best aren't perfect and he's going to have something to learn from at some point. Yes, the roster is better than Mullens. One difference between Purdy and Mullens is the ability to extend plays. Mullens didn't seem to have any escapability or scrambling ability. His ball placement was not as good. The two have some similarities, but Purdy is noticeably better in several areas -- mobility, processing, and ball placement -- at least from what little we've seen so far.

By all means, this still doesn't mean he'll be great, but he looks like a starting caliber guy from the small sample size. I also can't count out Trey at some point. We need both of them, and I'm happy to have both.

Notice Brendel is faced with 2 rushers...and he doesn't block either one. Brock still makes the throw with rushers right in his face--very impressive.

They need to fix that quick. Brock gonna get concussed and then we will get Josh Johnson

Our QB's get murdered way too often. And for a variety of reasons. We need 3 legit QB's every year. LOL

I would love to be a fly on the wall for the other 31 teams this week. I am sure every owner has inquired to their scouting departmet. What was the rank we had on Brock Purdy?? How did he fall on our draft board?? Why did we not draft him in round 5 6 or 7 as a back up?

He's taken some shots. Tough. But does Kyle need to send all 5 guys out everytime. Geez!

My favorite play yesterday was when he decided to run in himself and off script. He was smooth as can be. That was awesome. Kyle, like, that's my boy!

I have to say that I haven't felt this confident on our QB position in years. If Purdy keeps this up by the time Jimmy can return I don't think I wanna see Jimmy. If Purdy is playing well I can't see Shanny switching to Jimmy. And if Purdy wins the SB Trey Lance can forget being the starter in 2023.
