Last I checked it's 2023. I've been posting that stance for months now.

you should get it Mr. Flip flopper. Where were you when I constantly put this in the thread?

If they can't let their highly drafted young rookie QB play through it. They aren't gonna let anyone.

I'm still struggling to understand why a person changing their mind is such a sin.

Thank you SLC, he should take back his insult for what he perceives as me changing mine
I simply asked his point of view on the matter, and the reason for his change of heart

It's not lol. I've said my opinion is my opinion and that can always be changed. I've been saying none of these dudes have earned the right to play through bad football for months.

it's like faithful running around in here saying Lance is the MVP. Then tossing him in the trash after 30 passing attempts. I have my own feelings on a person who acts like that. Then talks the way he does…but it's his opinion.

half the posts in here are trying to disprove someone else or argue. I take part in a lot of them, but honestly at this pt it's exhausting and a waste of time. I come in here to talk about the 49ers and learn some stuff.

I've been saying this for months! Not all of sudden. You run in here trying to diminish what I'm saying to find a gotcha moment. That's ALL you ever do. It's hardly ever about football with you.

I have absolutely nothing to apologize about. Zero

Excuse me? I've said for over a month that none of these QBs have earned the right to play through bad play at this point. If they were unwilling to do it with their highly drafted QB that they spent yrs of 1st on…they aren't gonna do it now.

You and faithful back at it…talking about the poster and trying to find gotcha moments instead of having a normal discussion. What's the point in talking to either of you? It always ends in this b******t pointing figures who's smarter than who crap.

What do you mean if they were unwilling? They gave the keys to Lance last year. He got hurt, that's why he didn't play

I was literally in the process of posting this

They had all of year one to do the same thing. 30 passing attempts and we got Sam freaking Darnold splitting reps and a ton of talk about trading him. So no imo they weren't willing to let him develop overall.

Simms on a 49er podcast the other day said point blank Kyle has absolutely no problem benching a QB if they don't play well. I don't think he's all about developing a QB. It's part of the reason he almost didn't come to SF.

IMO if Brock/lance/Sam have a couple poor games, I don't think he's gonna let them play through those struggles that usually happen for young QBs (Sam's in a different category imo).

edit: I wouldn't Cal keeping Jimmy on the roster this past yr as "giving the keys to the car" either.

Ya'll think if Brock or whomever plays bad, that he's gonna let them continue to play…I disagree. IMO none of them have earned that yet.
Darnold certainly doesn't deserve the leeway the other two should have.

Yes he will continue to let Brock play. Not Sam or Trey though.

For what 6 games? What if he goes 2-4 with 6INTs and 5TDs through those games? He gets to play through that? Because of a couple games last yr with some pretty unsustainable stats tied to them?

so Trey's 30 passing attempts last yr was enough to say he's not allowed to play through any bad play? That's pretty wild imo.

Cause Kyles proven to be loyal to who he names the starting QB. Cause Brock's proven more than either of those 2 guys. Would you have wanted Kyle to pull Trey last year after 6 games for Jimmy if his stat line looked like that. I'm betting you would have been opposed to that idea.

So they were unwilling because they didn't give him the keys year 1 as an incredibly raw QB on a SB roster? We all knew what the plan was year 1. They tried to incorporate him in and also got hurt that year as well.
Meh, don't really put much stock in what Simms said. He has been wrong so many times and is not as dialed in as some think, or at all for that matter per Kyle
imo Purdy would have to be a disaster and they are losing for them to bench him
Keepin JG on the roster was just smart business and we saw why, they still have the keys to Lance and told everyone he was the unquestioned starter

The missing element here is how Trey and Sam look in camp, preseason, and if they get any time at the beginning of the season because Brock isn't healthy.

If they look good, and Brock struggles when he returns there may be a short leash.

If they look like they've looked coming into this offseason, Brock is going to have a longer leash.

It makes little sense to make a change without a good feeling you're going to get improvement at the position. Brock is the only player of the three to have shown the ability to play at a high level. There'd be more reason to believe he could turn it around than to believe a lightbulb will suddenly go off for Trey or Sam (if they haven't shown it already in camp/preseason etc).
