I don't think he liked the tough schedule. TV is much more cushy.

Yeah, I think Griese is probably going back to TV or getting a job closer to home. The dude almost quit after his first season as QB coach, so I never thought he would be around here long.

I think he was just stuck as a QB coach in SF. There wasn't any upward trajectory, and it sounds like external OC opportunities weren't a good mutual fit.

He could use this year to spend time with family, consult with NFL or NCAA teams, and/or do some analyst work. He could have some good demand next offseason.

Didn't he just turn down an OC opportunity somewhere else? I hope he's ok.

I seem to recall a conversation last year about missing the time he had with his family. So, I'm not surprised by this move. I just wonder how it will impact Purdy, if at all.

I thought he had a HC interview with the jets also.

they requested to interview him, but he declined

I wouldn't have been surprised if had "stepped down", but am very surprised that it's being reported that he was "fired"
he was the one who was getting the most credit for Purdy's first two seasons
feel like there's more to the story

Link to reports he's been fired?
I had not heard he was fired. Replaced, yes.
