DEE FORD

ARIK

I hate to say it but, MOSTERT (''most hurt'')

VERRETT

NORMAN

that's a start. Too bad we traded for Lance instead of niner fan RB Najee Harris . That's just hindsight tho.

bruh, do you even watch the games? lmao. Armstead has been killin it this year

Not so much entire year but certainly the last 5-6 games. AA's issue is the cheap money of his deal is coming to an end this year. His Cap number is $20 million or higher the next three seasons. 3-6 Sacks per year is not going to cut it for that kind of money IMO.

Sacks aren't everything, he does way more than that, he's earned his salary, no reason to cut ties when he's been great all yr long, people need to get off the whole sack numbers, sure it's nice to see Bosa put up 15.5, but he also does more than get sacks, both are worth the money they are/will get paid.

When you're near 20 mil in cap, yes, sacks are a huge deal. No GM worth damn is spending 20 mil on a run stuffer / take on blockers. The way he played in the first half was something you can easily find in the NFL. Now when you add his sacks and his 2nd half presence, that's what GMs pay 20 mil a year for.

AA got that contract based on his 10 sack season, if those sacks never happened, and he was just a good run stuffer, he would've been making 5 mil a year.

Tell TB & GB that, they paid Vita Vea & Kenny Clark more than Armstead, $17.75M for Vea & $17.5M for Clark, neither are sack guys, so if we're dumb to do this for a guy like AA(a run stuffer), then so are TB & GB right?
With ford and jimmy's contracts off the books where does that leave us?

Ford being cut now doesnt do a lot. Ford getting cut after June 1st gives us more cap relief than a preJune 1st cut, but would give us even more dead cap the year after.

He should have been cut after the Superbowl. Kicking the can down the road with this dude has created an even bigger problem.

What happens if he retires, which seems like a possibility?
