Same story all year , offense can't punch it in, jimmy or trey is same story , we can't turn opportunity into points, it's the pressing problem right now

Thats cute. Should probably be thanking the refs for all their defense did. It was a touchdown at the goal line and it was offsides, (as their linebacker was in the neutral zone) on the 4th down play later. We lost, and the offense looks like garbage but, goddam if the refs didn't do everything they could to help make sure of that.

He didn't do well throwing the ball, outside of a couple nice throws. He did well running the ball, but you need to do more than run the ball to have sustained success as a QB. And right now, I'm not seeing the flashes to indicate that he is a future Patrick Mahomes worthy of 4 picks.

This regime, and fanbase, got played by a media driven narrative that says you "need" a certain thing in order to win, even tho evidence proves that to be false. And now the future of the franchise depends on Trey Lance being nothing less than Mahomes 2.0, and he doesn't look to be that

I'm one that backed up Jimmy, but Trey is more dynamic. Today was his 1st start on the road against a division team. Those 4th down calls (aside from the goalline), what was Shanny thinking? Punt it and make AZ work for it. They may not have scored that TD to make it 17 if we punted it away instead of fail again on 4th down.

This game was not on the defense. To limit AZ to 17 points is a huge accomplishment.

On offense, so many opportunities squandered. The 4th and 1 failure to get into the end zone was obviously huge. The 4 and out with two batted passes around the 50 yard line after the AZ turnover was another killer. The off-schedule runs are cool and potentially game changing, but way too much running to the point it got predictable. Lance will get hurt if they overuse his legs ala RG3.

Jimmy consistently brings back the team to tie or take the lead in the 4th quarter. This is the 2nd straight week Lance could not. It was good to see what Lance can do, but I definitely want Jimmy back in there once he's healthy.

Like I said although this was a L, it was still a win in that. trey got his in game experience. Now the questions become, should Trey continue to get the experience after the bye?

i think if our receivers would catch some of those balls as well if mike stop holding we might of converted lots of those plays.

I wonder if we win this game with Kittle.

Is this fan base mostly from England? Germany? Mexico?

He's a good HC, but his biggest weakness is that he has a very specific scheme that needs to be in sync. So when guys are constantly in and out of the lineup sue to injuries, that timing is off, and the offense cannot be sustained.

Now, Kyle's approach was a great way to win in the NFL in the 80s-00s. But the last 10 years of the NFL it is archaic to expect rhythm/system offense. There are just too many injuries, too many free agency changes, and too little college prep for those types of offenses. The West coast offense based on timing and rhythm is as archaic as the RB centered offenses of the 60s and 70s. In the NFL of 2021 its all about having 3-4 great WR/TE/RB in the pass pattern, and a QB who can chuck it and/or run it, or even better, chuck it when running it.

He's not a good HC.

Beg to differ. Most HC cannot overcome rotating personnel.

He'll win a SB or two as HC eventually. Just a matter if it is with SF or another team. Probably the latter because the 49er fan base can't tolerate any setbacks. "SB or bust" is a great attitude to have.... when the team is winning SBs. This franchise hasn't won a SB in 27 years. Time to put SB or bust in the trash heap. Gotta look at long term, and that means taking the lumps with a HC who is going through struggles when he's shown he CAN win in the past. Gotta give him time to see if he can adjust his offense to current NFL and not be so reliant on a run game that can't keep RBs on the field. Time to see if KS will dig into his vertical passing game with Lance over time as Lance learns the playbook.

He's just may end up with his 4th losing season in 5 years when all is said and done this season....you can't excuse that kind of production.

I thought Lance was great.

The defense held up, time and again, until finally giving up a late TD.
The problem was the O-line.
The inability to gain 1 yard, time and again.
And, the penalties.
I think that TL should be the starter.
