JFC, this should've been flagged. The refs were f**king awful this game. I'm not going to pretend the 49ers weren't the beneficiaries of some putrid calls this game because they were, but god damn, this is egregious.

They're not calling a ticky tack penalty on a prime time game in the final 37 sec.

That's not "ticky-tack."

They would have if it was a DB committing a penalty.

Seriously that was a mugging. Ticky Tac??? Jcs definitely has his own narrative here.

This. I don't get the position here on the zone that he's some kind of top 5 head coach. In his 5th season, he's had 3 10+ losing seasons. What has done to deserve these accolades. If I remember, he was this close to the hot seat in 2019. A very favorable schedule and some extremely lucky breaks, and they're in the superbowl. He blows it. And now we are back to mediocrity again. Has he ever had a top 5 offense since he's been here? Outside of that 2019 season, I can't think of 1 memorable game that made him out to be some fantastic head coach.

Holy cow this is a terrible hot take. Is this guy for real? Let's summarize:

2017 - he inherited a crap team - rebuilding year
2018 - still a crap team but got jimmy G mid-season - still a rebuilding year
2019 - magical season and super bowl and s**tty outcome
2020 - injuries galore but we got Trey Lance out of it
2021 - TBD

They didn't call it all game long but you expect to see the call on the final drive of the game? Common Man!

Your years are a little mixed, but I agree with the sentiment. We got Jimmy in 2017. He tore is ACL in week 3 2018. I don't know that there has been a more unlucky coach in the league the past handful of years when it comes to injuries. 2 significant injuries to his QB. Both before the first month of the season was over.

Forget every other injury on the team over the years, not many teams can overcome that and have a playoff season. Last year, I've never seen a team lose that many players.
Oh yea sorry totally forgot about the 2018 ACL tear for Jimmy G - WHICH GOT US BOSA.

Then that ankle led us to trey lance last year Jimmys broken legs are our gains
They should have just tackled Adams at the line of scrimmage. With time a factor for the Packers who cares if we get a 10 yard penalty. 10 yards is better than 25.Should have been holding Adams all way down the field. If the flag is before the pass it's just holding and not PI.

That actually isn't a bad strategy. Defensive holding is only 5 yards. It would have taken them 5 plays to get to the 50.

Some thoughts I had watching the offense on coaches film:

1. Mack REALLY struggled in this game. From getting blown up on blocks to having some ugly snaps. Wonder if Clark was getting in his head.
2. The entire oline had some terrible moments, along with Woerner (and even Kittle) missing on some blocks in the run game.
3. Jimmy was better than I thought he was watching the broadcast angle. I didn't see many open throws that he missed/didn't take. Had two TDs dropped (though one would have been wiped by penalty) on that drive before half that Trey had to run in. BUT wtf is that sideways step he's doing?!? I noticed it on the bad miss on the 3rd and 1 throw to Kittle and at least once more.
4. Why is Kittle doing so much pass blocking? From what I could tell, McG hasn't been so bad that he needs Kittle out there to help, especially with GB not having their best pass rusher. That really bothers me, especially on 3rd downs or obvious pass situations.
5. Watching the INT from the all-22 definitely looks like Kittle was slightly overthrown. The INT was still a spectacular defensive play and Jimmy did have a guy bearing down on him, so I'm not too mad about. Should have been an incompletion at worst.
6. Sermon seemed to get way better in the 2nd half. That play where he was almost stopped 2x behind the LOS and somehow got positive yards was beautiful running. If you took the hit he took on his first NFL carry, you'd probably be a little affected by it.
7. The optimist in me feels like Kyle is holding back a lot of stuff for upcoming divisional games. The offense just seems kinda blah right now. I know some is due to injuries and some due to poor execution. (Also some due to GB getting away with penalties that could have changed the game)

Lol we are the ones that got the lions share of favorable calls/non-calls

I disagree. There was a missed tripping on a Jimmy sack, a missed blatant hold on the 25 yard pass to Adams on the final drive, and two of the three DPIs called on the Niners defense were crap. Also had the play where Aaron Jones lowered his helmet into Norman's chest and knocked him out of the game. Just to name a few.
