Matt Barrows said in Al Sacco's podcast that he believes Nate Sudfeld was brought here to be the backup to Lance if the team can trade Jimmy at some point this season.

I'm all for Trey and Jimmy as depth is a HUGE factor ESPECIALLY with this teams injuries but let's not hype the kid too much and expect greatness right off the bat. ....It would be greaaaaat.....but realistically it probably won't happen off the bat.

Sudfeld over Rosen currently, but if Lance does win the job, I think they should pick up a more mobile QB, someone who's more similar to Lance. Because Sudfeld sounds like he has Philip Rivers-level escapability.
