This is the best 1-2 combo of QBs in the entire NFL. When you have a team stacked and ready to make a serious run at the SB, and you have two legit starters, (and you can afford them), you DON'T trade either one. You use this unique advantage as insurance, no matter who the QB is to win the SB. Doesn't matter who the starter is, when you have a pair like this, you just count your blessings and take advantage of a once in a generation situation.
There is no way JimmyG is getting traded this yr. Kyle and John are on a mission to win the SB, and we keep the guys we have as 1-2.
been trying to tell people this. Kyle and John don't want a QB injury to tank another season. Jimmy's paid and budgeted for the 2021 season. the team views a stronger QB room way more important than carrying over $24M over to next years cap. the only thing i can see changing their attitude is a trade offer that they cant refuse and that JG will sign off on.
Such an offer would result from Jimmy playing very well early in the season and a contending team losing their starter and be willing to give up a 1st plus a conditional pick, IMO. Other than that, Jimmy stays.
Very rare that starting qb that's playing very well get traded during the season. But you never know
I agree, it is rare. Unheard of. It would be the "perfect storm" that would include Lance clearly being ready to run the team to the SB.
In that scenario, recouping a 1st round pick would be the icing on the cake from the Lance trade. IMO, that was the hope when Jed agreed to pay Jimmy for this year.
Absolutely and that is why ever mother's son on the WZ should be pulling for Jimmy to have a balz to the walls yr this yr. We should all be saying the beads that he has a career yr. Because that means we win the SB…going away. But whether JG starts or Trey starts, the whole point is, $24 mil smackers is pocket change if we need both to get over the finish line in the SB. It also means his value goes up exponentially in 2022. And probably more than just a 1st if we win it all.
Posted before but here it is again. When you have a stacked team ready for a run deep into the playoffs and you have the BEST 1-2 punch at QB in the league….why on earth waste that once in a generation chance on a stupid yrs salary…even if it is $24 mil . Really, anyone really think Jed wants $24 million in cap $$ this yr instead of a 1-2 QB lineup that gets us a SB Win, regardless of who starts? Nah, 1000 times out of 1000, Jed wants the SB.
And you don't even have to ask KS or JL. You know their answer.
