I'll take boring over someone else tearing their ACL, Achilles, or breaking something, Leg, Hand, Foot, etc....

I think it's silly that Kyle cancelled the rest of the workouts. It isn't like the injuries are going to stop, people are going to have go back out there and practice.

When camp begins and the injuries continue. then i wonder what the excuse will be or how they will further move the goal post

What excuse? You can't prevent Injuries, and Otas are pretty pointless anyway Imo, no point In risking further Injuries.

He was gonna canceled the last practice regardless, did the same thing in the past….like a lot of other teams, they're not having mini camp either.

They started camp a week later this yr and he wanted to give his players 40 days off.

I think this new pampered style of practice or lack thereof definitely contributes to at least the soft tissue type injuries. 10 practices of what, light hour-hour and a half and then 40 days off? Weak IMO. I still believe in the old style of getting in "football shape", I bet half the players on half the teams out there would fall apart if they had to go through 3 a day camps LOL.

Hey it's what the NFLPA wanted in the new CBA...I'll bet money Kyle & most HC's don't want to p***y foot around all off-season....In fact most of them hate how this is setup.

The big difference between the past and now, are players workout on their own when they're not in camp...they have elite training facilities and position gurus that they use.

40 days between camps doesn't equal "vacation mode" at all...they will more than likely take a week or something off/recover, then it's off to these other facilitates working out on the things the staff gave them to improve upon. I believe Lance and some of the rookies are staying in Santa Clara for a little longer, then he's going to workout some with Quincy Avery at the QB takeover camp.

You don't get in shape at TC, you should be in top end shape when you show up, these practices are so limited than they don't have time for you to run a bunch of conditioning drills.
This will be the most anticipated preseason of my lifetime.

This is also where I stand, but Will Blackmon raised a very interesting point in this discussion. He believes that these guys are coming into OTAS/minicamp overtrained because of all the training they do on their own, and we know Kyle likes to run a rigorous offseason program. They essentially come in overcooked and under-rested into the offseason stuff with the team. He also talks about how Seattle monitors their players and keeps them healthy. It's pretty damn interesting.

Everything you said is true. I'm just saying that there's no doubt in my mind that it contributes to the increase in injuries recently. All the stuff that they do on their own is fine and dandy but it still doesn't compare to an actual NFL practice, or at least what an actual practice used to be, don't know what the new cupcake style consists of. But as you said, it's to nobody's fault and they have to abide by the rules and play the hand dealt.

No doubt there's something to this too. Really in the end it always comes down to shear luck. I thought I heard it all right up until last week when we get a Wilson meniscus tear from simply standing up, wrong I guess, from a damn chair.
I forgot to mention that I also believe that guys no doubt take the "business decision" route when training on their own and how much they train, especially in light of what just happened to J'Wuan James. If it wasn't a thing, we wouldn't hear every year across all teams on the media/coaches being able to see clear as day the guys who come to camp in shape and those that don't.

I knew it was going to be an issue after the Superbowl run and then the COVID "off season." While it ended up being the same s**t, different year, it did put a massive magnifying glass on SF as it broke records.

Good to see we are finally trying harder than other people. Some people call it cheating I call it trying harder
