10 games! I'm not sure we can (or should) win another game with the way we played last night.
That was also with our 2nd and 3rd string QBs, Top CBs gone, Deebo's first game back, Kittle's first game back, and the Eagles determination.

Can we stop with these threads?
That would be nice. Every week we seem to have some dramatic threads lol
I was coming to say the same thing. I do wish I could be a clueless fan and think this team is gonna win 10 games. I've never seen a team this depleted with injuries, it blows but it is what it is. The Eagles shredded the defense, The Eagles - let that sit in.
It feels Very Similar to 2014. High expectations, only for this season to be derailed by a ton of Injuries.
That's was a brutal year to sit through
Very much so. Let's just hope we can pull through with all theses Injuries.
lalz give it a rest..shredded our defense with less than 200 yds passing and 100 yds rushing. the only thing shredded on our defense was Johnson on that extremely lucky catch by Fulcrim
Yeah, our D has been pretty good overall. We need our Offense to step it a notch or two now.
Has D been that good really? I would just say the competition has been horrible.
You can Only compete against what's in front of you. We'll see how things look afew weeks from now when we go against the Rams, Pats and Hawks.
I completely agree with you but being a football fan I am sure you can tell the difference. I actually feel sorry for our defense. They are way more down than the offense but can't get any help, agree with you again. Hopefully Jimmy coming back can change things. As fun as last season was this one may be the opposite. You gotta admit though it is a lot less stressful!!??

With that offensive line, defensive line, and Secondary? Not a snowball's chance.

Sounds about right. At this point, the way guys are getting hurt, they're almost as likely to lose 10 as they are to win 10. Patriots, Packers, Saints and Bills all look really tough right now. Throw in 2 against undefeated Seattle and 2 against the Rams plus the 2 we already lost and that could be 10 losses.

We should regress towards the mean. And who's to say other teams will stay injury free. There doesnt seem to be much defense going on so far league wide. We need Jimmy healthy and back to form and Mos and Cole back as well.

That's why I said 8-8 is about right but at this point, the Niners would be underdogs in all those games I listed. You want to believe we'll find a way to beat the Rams and Seahawks at least once each but that's just hoping at this point. You're right that other teams could suffer injuries too so that's why I said at this point. We could get healthy and not have any more serious injuries while the other teams all get banged up. We could but don't count on it.

Probably not and I can't really blame them. This has not been a normal year by any means, and with the ever constant threat of COVID cancelling the season on any given week, I'm just thankful we get as much football as we can get this year.
Sure, talent plays a big part in winning championships, but so does injury free luck. Any team would struggle if they lost half of their roster to leg injuries.

"Don't ever underestimate the heart of a ALMOST champion!" If they get some players back and not anymore major injuries 10 is probably the ceiling, but the floor is 2.

No chance while those cardboard cutout fans are at home games. Did not once see them chant.

9-7 or 8-8 fighting for a wild card spot.

But in all seriousness there is a fairly unknown saying of "any given sunday". So unless they cannot play another 8 games the answer MUST be YES.

Meaningless trivia:
The last time the 49ers started 2-2 was 2014, where later in the season Jed York issued his infamous "unacceptable" tweet. 49ers finished 8-8 and Harbaugh departed for Michigan.
On the flip side, 49ers started 2-2 in 1981, demolished the Redskins and Cowboys the next two games on their way to their first Super Bowl win.

What a memory! I recall both but was a young kid in '81. Let's hope for another '81 reprieve but with all our injuries its gonna be a battle.
