AB, any news on the contract breakdown? With 55 mil guaranteed, it sounds like we have an out after 3 years.

Nothing yet, my best guess for 2021 is the minimum base of $1.075M, $250K per game RB, plus the $6.02M prorated bonus, the per game RB gets prorated, so only 14 will count, so he'd have a $7.3M cap number in 2021 if I'm correct, I'd expect 2022 to be around $15M, it'll likely be BIG in 2024-2026, they said it was heavily backloaded, well the one who broke it, Russini on Twitter.

Good god, I can't stand Matt Miller, I saw him on NFL Live on ESPN last week, I just want to punch him in his face, complete joke IMO.

As for anyone saying the cap is a myth, BS, teams know how to manipulate it, it's not fake, not a myth, just easy to create cap room.

Jason I think the distinction is between the cap rules itself and teams using as a reason why they can't acquire x player.

Agreed with that, it's not fake or a myth, just gets me mad when people say it is, it's just easy to manipulate the cap. No teams should ever make the cap the issue with not keeping or signing guys, especially once the TV deals kick in around 2023, I can see the cap within 10yrs to be $300M+ a yr.

I thought he was good as gone. Im happy he stayed cause he's still one of the best in the game, but I thought for sure he gone.
Trent is a very low maintenance player. His technique is very quiet and he's a natural athlete who keeps his feet underneath him.

Very rarely is he lunging and throwing his body around. I think this bodes well for him playing well into his contract, despite his age. He should be a high level player for the next few years.

An excellent signing.

I can't. I get dinged and placed on 24-hour suspensions for posting too much. I never know what I say or when I say it is going to set some moderator off on a "silence that dude" tangent, so it's better to make a single post and then just keep my mouth shut.

I still think the contract is a huge mistake. I am probably wrong, however. And we'll just leave at that.

Preach. This guy moves very naturally, especially when he's tossing 250 pound men on their ass in a blink of the eye 😳

Yup. I think his playstyle will age well. He'll still be excellent past age 35 imo. Then he can be a contract that the team can restructure to manufacture cap space in 2023, for example.

For 2023 we have, I think the following under contract right now.

FB Kyle Juszyzck
WR Brandon Aiyuk
TE George Kittle
TE Charlie Woerner
LT Trent Williams
OG Colton McKivitz
DE Arik Armstead
DT Javon Kinlaw

Obviously they'll have the following locked up by the IMO

WR Deebo Samuel
DE Nick Bosa(Would be his 5th yr option)
MLB Fred Warner
WLB Dre Greenlaw

Plus whoever we draft over the next 2 drafts.

As of now, if the cap is $225M, which is what OTC has it projected at, the 49ers have $145.523M, it include Dee Ford right now, but not Trent Williams, idk either of their terms, just Trent's $30.1M signing bonus, which is $6.02M from 2021-2025. Hopefully they'll have some good carryover, even if it's just $5M-$8M, plus I'd expect them to have credits/adjustments.

I'm holding out hope the likes of Moseley, Verrett, Moore, and Ward to really step up as long term core players, while also holding out hope we bring back Hyder & K'Waun.

Lol, love it, the fact that someone from the Chiefs site on SI.com reported that Trent signed with them, just funny AF, they probably thought they were going back to the SB, and they may, but they got Thuney, for $16M a yr, a LG lol, they kept saying, fans were, about getting 2 OL that are projected in the 1st rd, plus Trent, and having the best OL, plus sign an elite EDGE and a top tier WR2, delusional fans.

Queefs fans on chiefsplanet saying he was too much and their GM only got in the discussion to drive up the price. I think we matched their offer, and trent chose to stay in Cali, because they were in it right to the end.

Lambs fans on ramsondemand having a depressive episode about our O-line improving, and their defense getting run over by our running game even more now. And they were hoping to get Mack
What's up with the thread title change?
