love being wrong.. i was sure the chiefs would sign him. when you got something good. that means others want it.. good job lynch getting this done. i am so happy i would say. hell., keep goodwin on the roster through camp
As many have pointed out; once our FO made the trade for him with the un-skins, and then agreed with TW to not Franchise Tag him, that we were then pretty much locked into having to pay full market price to keep him on our team. I'm glad we kept him and just as glad that everyone can now move on to other things.

Finally 49ers are acting like a team that wants to contend.

What does that even mean?

Every deal can't be a cheap deal or a mid-tier or aging or injury-prone player with some warts for a discount.

agree with gm... no more tepid steps to fixing the line.. resigning trent and getting mack sends a message that we are not poking around on the o line. no more oh,, lets let a good guy walk and we hope some scrub on our team or practice team can fill in

LOL - I don't think athletes are going to penny pinch on a >$100M contract due to cost of living (state tax is somewhat a variable). Real estate appreciation is a lot higher in California than other markets. And you have success stories like Steve Young and Patrick Willis that have transitioned their careers in the bay area post-retirement.

Don't start with the cost of living argument. I went back and forth with just about everybody on that yesterday. Matter of fact there are probably posters out there still concerned for Trent even after this signing.

Stoked to have Trent back. Chiefs can screw off.

I def called that we were signing Alex Mack though.

Now if only we can get a RG worth a damn, our OLine would be complete.

I haven't given up on McGlinchey yet.

agree,, glad i was dead wrong.. i think a good guard can be found in the draft... i think after trent and mack... maybe get a vet wide out on the cheap and call it good in free agency?

Depends on how the cap space shakes out. Maybe we can retain KW? Would be fantastic.

yes,, forgot,, we could use a guy back there. glad we got jason back but still a big area of need. i am sure we can find some good people in the draft but maybe a decent vet cb and wide out still on the list. also wonder if there is any more tweaking. restructuring to be done or cutting guys to free up some space to do?

I'm very impressed, especially after hearing the terms of the deal 55m guaranteed and 20mm a year over three years. That's is not bad.

This is what I heard on NFL Network this morning. Can anyone verify?
