I'm still taking the chance on a young player and putting him with winning leaders and winning environment than bringing back an average wr when trading our best one

Aiyuk was good under our offensive system, but I have a feeling you guys are about to see a major drop off on how good he really is.

Agreed. We will miss him regardless bc there's no one else on our receiving list that comes close to his skill level. That's why the deal with Pittsburgh must include Pickens.

Overall though I never thought of BA as a game changing wide receiver. He excelled in the system he played for but rarely did he take over a game, and I never recalled any team gameplanning specifically for him….

Yeah, but technically they're weren't forced. He's under contract. For whatever that's worth….apparently not much

teams generally don't keep players that don't want to be there. B.A forced the trade by saying trade me as well as by saying I want what i'm worth, not what your willing to give me.

I can't blame Aiyuk if that's his position. You should be paid for what you are worth. But as an employee you are paid for what the positon is worth, not *your* worth. Unfortunately for the 49ers the WR market exploded on them. Not their fault. I still think there is a chance to retain Aiyuk, but it's clear he wants more money and my optimism is really low now on keeping him - considering the current WR market. I still have hope though.

We can miss him all we want, but BA won't miss SF. BA didn't want to be a 49er.

I would feel so much better about getting Cooper back

Pickens just doesn't make sense given age/contract/attitude. Also I don't care very much about a TE2 right now.

The only thing I like about what Pittsburgh has to offer is they could bolster our OL.

I doubt we get Pickens, but id be happy to take Freiermuth off their hands. Kyle been wanting to run a 2 TE offense for some time now and has been unsuccessful in getting that TE to pair with Kittle.
