But it's bad on Aiyuk as well. The Steelers? Commanders? Patriots? Honestly those are all awful options, with inferior QBs and he becomes target number 1- the guy defensive coordinator are gameplanning to take away which is something he has never had to worry about. Browns are a better team, but eh. That org will mess up a good thing somehow.

I think it's interesting that in spite of being 2nd team All Pro, the players in the league still view him behind Deebo. They also ultimately gave in to Trent, Deebo, and Bosa with contract demands. Going in a different direction here. Can't wait for this to end so we can get clarity on what Aiyuk feels his value is.

I agree with Bosa and Trent but they were trying to trade Deebo. Just didn't get the offer they liked. Remember they wanted the Jets #10 pick but the Jets wanted our 2nd RD pick. In hindsight looking back, The Niners should have taken it. They could have drafted Garrett Wilson and the Niners would still have him cheap for the next couple of years and they could have paid BA. We would then have two #1 WR's who are both great route runners but only would be paying one of them alot of money. And that 2nd RD pick we were not willing to part with was used to draft Drake Jackson. eek.

He is essentially vetoing a trade to any team he doesn't want to go to and being annoying enough to the 49ers that they now want to trade him.

He basically can pick where he wants to go and that allows that team (Steelers?) to pay pennies on the dollar for him since they don't really have competition.

The 49ers need to stop playing nice and suspend him without pay for conduct detrimental to the team and send him away. He has no injury designation so he cannot accrue a league year. That will force him to come to his senses and either accept a deal with SF/play on the 5th year option or accept a trade with whomever team the 49ers decide. He can't be allowed to dictate where he wants to go.

If he wants to play hardball the 49ers need to do the same and hold him hostage to his contract.
Aiyuk, in theory, is under Niners control for the next 3 years thanks to his 5th year option and 2 franchise tags. And I believe both tags will still be cheaper than what he would have got had he agreed to the original offer the Niners put out there. But then you have to worry about him becoming a distraction for your "last dance" season. That could totally derail our Super Bowl chances. This is where I think the Niners are at currently. The focus isn't on the team and being the best they can be for this season to potentially win it all. It's focused on Aiyuk and his contract. Hence why we are now looking to trade him and move on. Time to get locked in for this season!
the market is the market but I don't see good value in paying WRs at the top end.

WRs just don't push teams over the edge, they're an add-on.

Shame we couldn't get Judon as I feel he'd have at least as big an impact as BA.

Judon is great. We would have Bosa, Judon and Floyd that's at least 35 sacks right there. However, with the amount of offensive holding the refs allow, especially in the playoffs, pass rush isn't as valuable as it once was. That's why I want a 2nd and Cooper from Clev or Pickens from Pitt

Cooper would be fine, he's been consistenty good and I don't think we'd miss much in terms of WR production.

Agree on the holdling but how key has Chris Jones still been in the 2 SBs.

We're gonna take a lowball offer to appease BA. SF f**ked this up so much

The fact that we have a player signed and can tag him in a yr and SF isn't using this, is mind blowing….way to go and set a precedent Lynch and Co.

Bingo

cluster f**k and horrible way for a Super Bowl contender to be operating
Ship him to Cleveland and be done with it.

LMAO! This whole situation is just like the s**t show my estranged wife and I have been going through for the past year. Playing the long game of chicken and waiting on who blinks first.
Diva WRs=Not all, but most women.

Never heard of any of those players. Steelers can go pound the pavement.

The number $35 million just got thrown out there on Greeny. f**k all the way off BA 🤣🤣🤣
I think Aiyuk stays. Patriots were his one chance of leaving. They offered the most money and he said no. Should be able to use that as leverage/finalize the numbers with him

Unless Pittsburgh/Cleveland offers something amazing we need to keep him. Even if he sits and pouts for a bit.
