We haven't done it during Lynchs time, but if his agent plays hardball and Lynch does the same, he's under contract for this year at $14+M and has to report. He could miss everything but the mandatory stuff and be a distraction until week 1 but he has to report at sometime. The weekly checks are too much to forego.
I think we want him in and want a fair contract, but if his agent wants a tier 1 WR contact an argument can be made he's that valuable only to us, but he's not Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, or Cede Lamb. Shanny makes him a decent WR1 but not a top paid guy. We should keep Aiyuk and the core guys to run this group back with a few tweaks for next season.

First or nothing, imo.

Eh, a few non 1st rounders where the value may be better.
The Chargers rd2, rd 3, rd 5('24+'25)
or
rd 2('24+'25), rd 3(24/25), and ['24 5th or "25 4th]

Giants or wash, with two 2's (#39+#47)(#36+#40) and a 4th

No. I would rather keep him than give him away for a second. As to the other picks, we have a pocket-full of them this year. We don't need any more.

I'm not about moving really really good young homegrown talent. BA's best years are ahead. He does everything you want and never gets hurt.

now with that said would you move him for the Jets pick at 10? LV's pick at 13?

I don't want low end 1st rd picks. Dude is a stud and should be the future of the team. Not Deebo or Kittle at this point.

thoughts on what it would take you to move him?

What if BA genuinely doesn't want to be here? I feel like fans are automatically overlooking that aspect. You can't force a guy to sign a contract.

I mean put yourself in his shoes. You want to get the biggest contract possible right now, and then put yourself in position to get an ever bigger one in a few years. Staying in SF is the not the move to maximize your finances.

I mean if he doesn't want to be here (which I can't imagine that's true) then he's gotta help seek out a trade. If SF can't maximize their trade compensation…I'd say tough tits my dude. He's still got a year left and they can tag him after that.

sucks but that's how the business works.

I don't think he would have any problem getting paid here or anywhere.

Here's how we do this....Trade Aiyuk for a top tier RT use the extra money to sign Guard Robert Hunt. Then take our draft picks to trade up and grab a great rookie WR that can replace alot of Ayuik's abilities. Brock would have much more time to throw receivers open replacing the need for a top receiver like Ayuik. We could also resign JJ.

This only should happen if Ayuik wants out.

Who's trading a top tier RT? Also wouldn't SF be taking on his cap hit? The who trade player A for player B thing doesn't really happen anymore

Yeah, me too. I would love to keep him. But in the event he doesn't want to stay, then we'll just get what we can for him. it should be a 1st (depends on what pick) and some change. Address other team needs and pick up a WR later and resign Jennings. Can we also sign Robert Hunt and then trade up for Latham/Fuaga? Boom the right side is fixed. So many options. Here are the recent big WR trades that happened the last couple of years. I don't know what kind of comp we can get for BA

AJ Brown trade to Eagles was for the number 18(first) and a 3rd
Tyreke Hill was for a 29(1st), 50(2nd), 4th and 6th

I don't think it's a thing of "get what we can"….we get what we want or we don't move him.

I highly doubt they spend up for a IOL. The cash isn't there and they don't put money into that position.

draft the lineman. There's plenty in this one.
Super Bowl window is out the window if they trade Aiyuk unless they luck out and get a top tier receiver like Justin Jefferson in the draft. But this team has a track record of whiffing on receivers.

All three of our starting WRs were drafted by this regime lol.

But we whiffed on Pettis so facts don't matter

I'm mostly talking about Pettis, Trent Taylor, Gray and Richie James. Those kinda of whiffed picks. Then again Deebo hasn't shown he can win contested catches downfield really or even get separation.

I think this proves what a game of roulette the draft process really is and is why I don't think he is traded.

No I think it's fans who have unrealistic expectations of a 5th round pick Taylor(who wasn't bad just couldn't stay healthy) and a 7th round pick James. Sure you can say we whiffed on Pettis in the 2nd which is clear and Gray seems to be following that path as a late 3rd round pick but I have to believe that pick was for his speed and hopes we could turn him into a better receiver which carries more risk.
I like Bucky, but he was definitely a 🤡 for that statement.

Houshmazade is Aiyuks offseason coach. I think Bucky is being a little more honest with his assessment

Can always make a package to move up.
