There is a Salary Cap Guy here i forgot his username but anyone know "penny for penny" what the 49ers have actually paid him up to this point? Because they did void his "Guaranteed" Money.

And i would like to think the 49ers or any other Organization have some kind of guards in place to prevent them from getting conned out of Millions. ETC ....Breach of Contract Or any other Avenues that can be pursued to re-coup that Money.

Niners may be able to attempt to claw back a good chunk of his signing bonus due to him abandoning the team but I'm not really sure how that works or if they will do it

They should be able to recoup his remaining signing bonus prorations, they did get back some money from the injury policy they took out on him but that's 100% confidential unlike contract details

According to the report I read. Dollar for dollar, the clean way to explain it is: Brandon Aiyuk signed a 4-year, $120 million extension, but the full $120 million was never fully secured because NFL deals depend on guaranteed money; his deal had $45 million guaranteed at signing, a $76 million total guarantee package, and big option bonuses, but the 49ers reportedly voided his 2026 guaranteed money, including the $24.935 million option bonus, meaning they are no longer locked into paying that next major chunk. Up to this point, he has made roughly $48.15 million from the extension before taxes; after estimated federal tax, California tax, and Medicare taxes, a realistic rough take-home is around $22.5 million to $25 million, with my straight estimate being about $22.8 million net before agent fees and personal expenses. California's top tax rate can reach 13.3%, and athletes also deal with "jock tax" rules depending on where games and work days happen, so the exact number can move, but the message is simple: Aiyuk did not pocket $120 million — he likely pocketed around the low-to-mid $20 millions after taxes from the extension so far, and the 49ers voiding his guarantees took away the next big guaranteed payday.

'Good chunk' in this case meaning a small percentage of his prorated signing bonus for the season in which the breach occurred. A very small fraction of the 48+ million he was paid over the last two years.

Wouldn't his signing bonus be prorated over the life of the contract? So let's say someone's contract was a 4 year deal with $20m guaranteed and the player quits the team after year 2. Couldn't the team go after $10m? (Ie he was with the team 2 of the 4 years, each year prorated at $5m for the signing bonus)

Probably more complicated that that but seems they could potentially get millions back from him (unless it works differently)

Does it prorate evenly? What could they reasonably expect to recover?
